I have facial hair. And when I was looking for a new IT job, I went to like 5-6 interviews without a bite. Then I remembered something we were told in high school once by a comedian on a career day. He said that facial hair makes people seem more dark, mysterious, like they're hiding something. And for a comedian to be more accepted well by an audience, they need to be clean shavin. So, I applied this idea to a job interview and shaved off the goatee. The very next interview I had turned to a job offer. And then I just grew the goat back after I was comfortable with my job security. You are judged by looks people. Take out the nose rings, shave off the beard, cut the hair, cover up the tats and look professional. You will notice a difference in how people treat you.

  13. Re:These are called rebreathers on Breathe Under Water Without Oxygen Tanks · · Score: 1

What is a rebreather ... ? A rebreather is a self-contained breathing apparatus for use underwater which reuses at least part of each breath. This should be contrasted with "Scuba" (open circuit) where the entire breath is expelled into the surrounding water when the diver exhales. Rebreathers are able to reuse the oxygen left unused in each exhaled breath while they simultaneously remove C02 with a chemical which "traps" the C02. The net result is greatly extended dive times with relatively small tanks. An added benefit is a relatively quiet dive as there are little or no bubbles produced.

Not the same thing. These still use air from a tank, not from the water. But thanks for playing.

  15. Re:Legal or Illegal on The Other Side of BitTorrent · · Score: 1

I do not wish to argue what is right and what is wrong. I was just saying that morals aren't universal, as different cultures have come to different conclusions about what is right or wrong. We believe Canibalism is wrong. The Carib Indians of the West Indies do not.

Murder of the unborn is morally wrong.

Food for thought. If it was that clear cut, then why is there so much debate over abortions?

Not so sure about that one. Examples: canibalism, beef/dog/cat consumption, abortion, capital punishment, slavery to name a few. Is sharing copyrighted material immoral? I for one can still sleep well at night after my downloads are complete, but to each their own.
