    I have a friend who literally just started at an Apple store this past weekend. He's making ~$10 an hour working retail, and there are a ton of people who work there!

    Indeed, I run Word and Excel 2007 just great here under Wine .9.59. Funny thing, it doesn't start under 1.0RC1. Too bad the rest of the Office doesn't work

    Don't they simply output the power laid out by the USB spec? I have an Apple ipod charger, just a wallwart with a usb port. My brother can also plug his Sansa USB cable into it and charge it with the same adapter just fine.

    But this is modded funny, so maybe I missed the joke..

    That's just it, I'm not sure. The flash works sporadically, even within the same site. i.e. Youtube. Sometimes it will work, sometimes I have to open Konqueror.

    I think people use this argument due to IE's poor reputation. IE has always sucked, but I think it's gotten better recently. I wouldn't know, because I mostly run Ubuntu and I havn't given the new IE a chance on XP. Oh, and it's just fun to bash Microsoft whereever we can

    I am finishing up my first year of Electrical Engineering at a large US public university. I was/am part of a great honors freshman program which covers alot of bases in a short amount of time culminating in a design project.

    Anyways, I have a great friend at the USMA at Westpoint and, as part of the general freshman curriculum,he had a class on Java.

    What is worse about XP over 95, IYO? You mentioned copy protection, I've never had a problem with it, either unauthorized, retail, or OEM copies. Did you get less BSOD's in '95? Less hardware problems? I know some people have had trouble but certainly there is more to it then the copy protection

    Agreed. I have a few 100mb+ PDF's(textbooks) that I use. On windows, they take forever to load up in adobe. I tried foxit recently and was amazed at the speed increase. Now I'm running Ubuntu, and KPDF is even nicer.

    I work in the office of IT at my university, and we have a ticketing system used by almost every department on campus. There's a guy who's list of tickets is about 30 letters a day from the RIAA. Whether they act on this information or not, I do not know...
