honestly. who will watch this? it doesn't sound interesting. it doesn't sound compelling.
the best this could be is a nice altenative to msnbc as background noise.
I think Dvorak is a whack job. He's said so many things I thought were retarded I never trust him about anything.
None the less the slow movement of hacker to Macs and how that has affected their architecture of choice. But if I had to say I'd say this will hurt the Power PC about 400x more than it'll affect anything related to Linux.
Now I'm not really a defender of SMS or anything. But these tests are so unscientific. This one may be, I didn't read what it said, I'm just deciding based on the fact that they probably had to people well trained in Morse Code and two people who've never used a cell phone. And never mind that SMS is 10x easier to learn than Morse code.
And don't get me wrong. This doesn't bother me as much as that shit about pigeons being faster than the internet, but it's close.
I think a lot of people don't realize the immense difference between Yahoo and Google. And sure Yahoo may be a little upset about how little press it gets, but it's really not in an all out brawl with Google.
Sure they're competing in the search engine field, but Yahoo's a complete media portal where Google's all about the technology. That should really be recognized.
I don't know about everyone else, but at least this is a book that sounds pretty good without costing 25+ dollars. It seems you can't find a single technical book thats also affordable, so I'd think about pick this one up if only for that.
We all knew Blu-ray won a long time ago...

and I'm not just saying that because my dad worls on making everyone like it.:)
But seriously, sadly this battle isn't nearly over. Until one side or the other actually concedes we won't really have a winner.
its a very interesting thought to say the least.
cringely had me mostly convinced with what he had to say about the mac mini. if this really went down it would be pretty clear evidence that he was right. i honestly think he has to be right, or there's a real chance of people not seeing the light and going with microsoft's IPTV instead. they really did impress me with that at CES.
I can't believe this guy. He thinks he's God or something.
I started reading "The Cathedral and the Bazaar" a week ago, and still haven't finished it. I couldn't read more than a page at a time because it was so dripping with his egoism. I mean, it makes me sick to read that stuff.
The only use I know of for the common floppy is taking an assignment to school so I can finish it.;) I'd rather take up a little space on a floppy than was a whole CD-R for a very small document.
Quite right, though pre-1994 doesn't really seem to express how old the picture on Microsoft's site is.
I think pre-1940 is more accurate.

Swiss Army Knifes. I mean it. I won't be happy until I can prepare dinner with my cellphone and a fire. We'll be like regular cave men.

Releaing google code? Thats almost as unlikely as Microsofot ever being nice to anyone.
