especially when they put such useless expirary dates on them,, i just pulled out my last HP printer, an HP deskjet 500c,, i found a black ink cart that says it expires in 94 (still in box),, i put it in, and,,, ahh, nice 150dpi text, sharp as always, lol:), maybe they mean more with the newer higher DPI printers tho... i'm sure not buying an HP to test it:)
Reece,
The author really only briefly mentions canon in the article,, i recently bought a Canon S520, while it isn't as fast as on the box, i don't really care, it seems quite reliable, and with separate, large, and moderatly cheap ink cartrges,, it's the best printer i've had in a lovg while. I'm not sure about linux support, i think i'm gonna check that out now...
Reece,
PS. my father recently bought a $200+ Hp, it's only USB, and only works with a USB cable 6' or shorter, and only came with 1/2 full cartrdges,,, (the canon thinktank carts or tranparent, so you can actually see that they're full, and when they're getting low, great idea canon!!) overall, i really wouldn't ever buy an HP myself after this,,
Reece,
If they do follow the US, i may be one of the 1st emmigrants, i know for a fact that i couldn't live in the US cight now,, and if the C'dn govenment makes the same mistakes as they seem to contiually make...
Reece,
I'm not sure, i tried using a UTF-8 charset with UTF-8 encoding set as defoult in my browser, but it didn't seem to work, (i used both opera 6.03, and IE 6 on windows XP)
Reece,
Yes, I agree with that, but many people, especially in 3rd world countries don't have powerhouse, top of the line computers,, i'm quite certain the my schools computers (P133, 32mb RAM IBMs,) would take a moderate amount of time to render that, not to mention the slooooooooooooow internet speed. Also, due to the fact you'd need capitals and symbols, and at least 3 different fonts, i'd say that you'd need at least 240 images.. to make tha effective, i'd say you'd need a highspeed connection, and at least an 800mhz processor, with at least 128mb RAM. While it may work, it's not exactly practical...
Reece,
Did you hit enter??? there seems to be a small glitch in that hitting enter, hits the "i'm feeling lucky" button instead... meaning it will goto the 1st found page. try again, but click the search button instead and you should find that it works properly.
Reece,
However, pages that google caches are illegal in China,, meaning they are both attempting to uphold thier laws, hovever, we think that google shouldn't be illegal, why don't we think that kazza etc. also shouldn't be illegal?? it's all a matter of opinion, and what angle you view the situation at.
Reece,
They should create a script that flips these pages, then delivers them too,,, but then, they would most likley get blocked also,:S, hmm, sounds like a lose/lose situation,
Reece
Sorry, i wasn't talking about america as a country, but more the americans who did write and vote on the DMCA (your congress,) because, if the DMCA were ever really strongly enforced, i'd say about 1/2 of america would be arested,, possibly even 1/2 of the congress that created it...
Reece,
Yah, I just tried it, when you use a mirror, the letters are in the right order, but they're backwards,, To do it properly, they'd need to replace all the letters with graphics, and that could take a loonnnnnnng time to load/render...however, using several mirrors, i'm quite sure it would be possible to make it look right, but personally, i can read it fine as it is.
Reece,
Yeah, but the FTC also states that these l33t hax0rz, who haven't touched a computer in 10 years of are terrorists, or that they aid them... in the end, every american citizen will end up being arrested!! dumb americans,, making laws that will probably eventually lead to the thier own arrests, almost like suicide, but not as well planned.. lol:)
I went to activate my new telus mobility phone a month ago now, and i got an activated system, i thought oh great,,, baut actually, it only asked my a couple quick questions, then transfered me to a real person,, it actually scared me that it did this voluntarily, lol:)
Reece,
not just talk,,, all you'd have to do is get a nice big amp, and goto where the speakers are connected, and you could theoretically, listen to everything everwhere in the house,, and as long as the speakers are in use,, they wouldn't even notice!! spooky...
Good thing i keep all my virii on CD:D, lol, but on a serieus note, whoever theught if this is screwed,,, but knowing the c'dn government, it could pass:S, for future refernce... does anyone know how much satilite internet (provided by say an african or japaniese company) would cost??
The schools get funded by students, and because we only have 500 ppl, but the building is built for 1000, a lot of the $ has to go towards building maintmence. We have to put out $30 deposits on our textbooks for the courses that have them, in most they only have enough for 1/2 of one class tho, so they have to stay there. in a lot of classes, the teachers have 1 text book and make photocopies from it. right now, i'm not even sure if my school has a calculus course!:S
Reece,
i found it works about the same each time,, might be because i reformat & partiton each time,, or just because, it really can't get any worse, lol:). Maybe i should try a low-level format,,,
Reece,
Yah, 2 tone floppies!! that's a freaking ama;ing idea!!! i'd buy them, for now tho, i'm gonna try taking some of those translucent coloured floppios apart and supergluing them together with a different one,, so far it looks pretty promising, mwahaha, lol:),
Reece,
let someone else do it!! i just get my father to bring it to his work where they deal with large amounts of computer waste (school board,) and they usually get rid of it for me, not sure how tho,,,
Reece,
Geez, i wish people would donate old computers to my high school (also in Ontario,) my school is leasing 3 labs of P166's, and a lab of 486s!!:S, i'm not sure, but i'd hope they're getting a REALLY good lease deal on them.. the school's server is only a P133 with like 10gb, for 500 students, there's like of filespace, 10000/500 = ~20mb each,,
Reece,
I still have both of those in my basement:D, lol:), it's true tho,, back in the day, there was more af a sense of community, as you usually dialed up a local BBS,, meaning you could meet people near you. unfortunatly, i live in a rather small town,, i don't think there'll ever be a dialup BBS in local range again anytime soon, unless i win the lottory or something, lol:)
lol! think that's bad?? my lite-on 16x can burn fine, and read normal cd's fine,, but it can't read burnt CD or RWs,, not even the ones it writes!! now is that bizzare or what! my burner before that was an HP 4x,, after a year, it's laser over heated, melting it's self, and the disc in the drive (not badly, but definatly noticably,)
Reece,

It works on some ppl's computers, but not most,, i can only guess that you must have some backwards font on ur computers or something,,, Reece,
They should create a script that flips these pages, then delivers them too,,, but then, they would most likley get blocked also, :S, hmm, sounds like a lose/lose situation,
Reece
I did the same thing,, lol :), a very odd effect :)
Reece,
It seems that it works backwards if your computer has a compatable backwards font installed, no idea why any one (until now) would have one tho,,,
