    SDRAM isn't that expensive,,, my local store has 128mb for $30 Canadian, 512mb chip is only $90 Cdn. That's less than 20 cents Canadian per MB, or approx. less than 15 cents per megabyte in US $. Even DDR is only $52 Cdn for 128mb 266MHz, or $214 Cdn for 333MHz 512mb,

    But how many people's sound cards will have these drivers?? how many will M$ be able to support? i'd say thot many there is no driver way to disable digital out, because mine works even while in DOS, meaning that many people would still need to buy new cards that have supporting drivers, and many people wouldn't want to do that i think they'd have to flood the market with supporting sound cards and drivers several years BEFORE for this to become a reality,, even then, people arn't upgrading as much these days...

    what could work, is just taking a section of the servers bandwidth, converting all letters symbols etc. to numbers, it a=54 %=493 etc. and putting it into a string 54493, if the server had enough data transfer, this could be quite effective. Reece,

    In Canada, we welocme tumor giving towers,, they're everywhere, one right next to a local elementary school, and i've never heard a single person complain,, then again, most people where i live probably don't know what those towers are for, just "Oooh, i can make a call without wires!!" lol :)

    Note the fact that a section of CD or even DVD the size of a card could hold many many many games and they too are optical storage, meaning that it is quite possible fit a whole game on a card,, however, they could prove scratch prone unless they have some sort of protective casing,,

    Hmm, maybe that wasn't the absolute best way to word it,,, i was thinking more "personally bought," ie. yardsale ads, or clasified ads, etc. not "personal ads" per say... Reece, PS. However, on the same note, it could be an interesting idea to maybe have "community chat rooms," or "Community message boards," offered free, only accessable within that 3-4 block range, accessable only via his network,, keeping it local,,

    What yor missing is that Netzero & juno were large contintal ISPs with hundreds of dial in numbers, therefore ads on it were very expensive,,, this, is only a simple 3-4 block Wireless network, most liksey only one simple access point, after the inital cost, he would only need to pay for bandwidth, no employees, no phonelines, etc. Therefore, the ads would be much cheaper, and i'd think, if marketed correctly, many companies, possibly even personal ads. I think it could be quite sucessful if enough people in the area would use the internet wirelessly...

    PS. If you do,, you might try having a weather forecast, etc. for your town show up every say 10 minutes, so people would realize that your add bar is usefull to them also,, just a thought,

    NEWSFLASH: The analog hole, is a blackhole, never ending,, when one part is blocked, the hole simply gets bigger... I'm not sure about these headphones, but most, you can just take the foam padding off, and pop the speakers out, they're usually just sittisg in there, or very weakly attached, an the back, there should be open contacts, attach some wires, record, pop the speakers back in, put the ear pads back over, and you have a copy, leaving no noticable trace,,, unless they covered the foam pads in glue too,, lol :) Reece,

    That's about what it was like at my school before too, but unfortunatly, in Ontario, the government created a standard code of conduct that all ontario school have to follow,, the school no longer has much of a say in what happens, plus there have been a couple hitlist and a bomb scare at my school recently, so they've really begun craking down :S, strangly, no one really cares about pocket knives tho, while we get suspended for "replica" firearms,, it seems more messed up day by day... There was never any need for it, we were, and are still not, in any great danger, it is basically a US affair. Ontario, if not most of Canada just seems to be taking it's usual place as an extension of the USA :(. Reece, PS. Your school's actually 3x the size of mine...

    OMG!! That's it!!! i'm going to buy a 512mb DDR chip next paycheck, and use a DOS Ramdrive program, and boot windows 98 from RAM!! it HAS to work!! Reece, PS. if i manage to ever a afford a 512mb chip, i am trying this!! and no, i am NOT (excessivly) insane!

    I'm Canadian, and it's affected me a great deal. Slowdows at borders and airports, insame codes of conducts for schools, cancelation of any and all school trips for my school board far almost a year, Many many battles against school admin. have happened because they refused to lower the flag until the next day, and after they suspened ppl who went home because they're relatives worked there and they wanted to see if they were okay, etc. I think that it has effected every North American citizen, and beyond, in ways that they may or may not notice, Because most of us only look for the positives in things, not the negatives, which all of these effects seem to have been...
