Agreed, Primus gives me 10 cents a month for using ebilling. Some other companies will just give you a flat $5 credit when you sign up the first time, but this doesn't really encourage long term usage..
That sounds exactly like Bell Canada, except that they seems to make loads of money doing it! They routinely promise to call me back and never do (they've never once called me back). Even when they say they've made changes they often haven't and even when they have they're often horribly wrong. Want a supervisor? They'll transfer you to a supervisor of a complety different department!
I think the copying of the data to and from the hard drive would almost as long as the courier's trips. Even with 36 cyclers Average latency 20 minutes?
If the drive is failing, DBAN often doesn't work properly. a Degausser would probably work, but this is likely much more effective in showing management that a drive has been destroyed...
Our local electric company required either a $160 which could be returned on your request after 3 years of on time paymenr or when you move out OR you could give them your info AND pay $25 to have a credit check done! If you failed the check, you had to pay the $25 plus the $160 depostit!
Actually, that exactly what Comcast does now that I think of it. Their software just checks if the SSN is linked to any other accounts with debt, if it finds anything then you have a huge mess to sort out (unless of course it's yours, then you can just admit to it and they'll make you sign a contract before setting up any services).
Well, if the number will be used in a credit check, the check will have a high potential for giving inaccurate information, or generally coming back with no record.
If you provide your SSN to Comcast, they also store it indefinatly. They use it for internal credit checks to make sure you don't owe them any money on previous accounts (and likely for other things as well).
That said you can usually setup an account without your SSN, but you'll need to set it up directly with your local office instead of by phone or internet.
True, but in reality it's probably easier for comcast users to use the working opt out option. For Bell users that don't have that option it's a good solution.
Nope, different connectors on the drives, although he could likely change the cable too. The real issue is that the BIOS likely won't know what to do with the drive...
Back in the day (10 years ago?) This is just about all that was available to a large group of North Americas for large portions of the non-prime tv parts of day. Prior to these infomercials, many stations actually shut off over night! It was actually just plain exciting to be able to watch something at 2 am!
I'd never watch one of these nowaday, but back them.. well, it was a hello of a lot better than static or colour bars (On another note, how the hell the am I supposed to adjust the colours on my TV these days?? Does anyone sell an acurate colour bar DVD or similar?)
I stopped in the camera store the other day and was truly amazed how empty the cubes behind the were where the film was stored. They had maybe 4-5 rolls of 4-5 types of film in a display clearly build to hold hundreds of rolls of a couple dozen varities..
Same thing here, my favourite wedding photo is one a friend took on their point and shoot in the park across from the church while we were waiting for our limo. The ones the photographer took are great, but it's clear they have a checklist of groups and positions they put everyone though.. making for cookie cutter type photos
Okay then, what's happening to the people that mandated that general internet access be availble on a PC full of patient records?
I wonder how many kids will think you're completely making that up?

Does bittorrent count as a DVR? I don't even subscibe to cable or satilite. Having my PC download what I want (mostly by RSS) is much more convenient.

It's because of the bloody American tourists! Keep the canadian bills separate from your dirty American ones, please!
With how some bill counting machines flap the bills around, it's suprising there isn't a nice layer of cocaine dust over half of the bank.

What a waste of resource! a c64 can run that, buying a robot to write out one sentence repeately is excessive!

They don't already do that where you live?
Mod parent up! I can't believe I never realized.
However as there is no hdd, and less than 1MB of ram your drive will likey be worn out from swapping the floppies around before you manage to open IE.

Poisin our drinking water?

Damn right, next thing they'll want us to walk on all fours!
You can't give speeding tickets if the freeway to too busy to speed... With enough officers that baby could pay it's self off in no time!
