    Although there is a problem because FreeBSD has problems with Christian owned companies in my experience. One of my clients got offended when I installed an OS whose logo was a Daemon. She made me install Solaris instead of FreeBSD because she didn't want a "Satanic" OS.

    1) The daemon logo doesn't appear anywhere in a freebsd system by default. Now i trick out BSD boxes with the Daemon but that's optional.
    2) He's too cute to be satanic.
    3) If you're stupid enough to believe that, you shouldn't be allowed to touch computers or make buying decisions.

    I still thing 2 is the best argument though.

    If i could keep te music if i cancelled my subscription and could play it on hardware that soesn't support DRM (b/c i already own it) I'd be all over this. $10/month for unlimited dl's is fair, but i don't want to have to deal with restrictions when i can get unrestricted music free. That's what these companies are missing. I was talking to someone who wanted to dl music. He was willing(and would have preferred) to pay, but only Kazaa Lite offered the features he desired.

    I'm supprised no company sells mythtv based PVRs. Go ahead and do all the setup and sell a redy to go box. Myth is a bitch to set up(compared to tivo), but once it's working it's as easy to use.

    If you send an email with hi as the subject it's probobly gonna be dleted anyway as it's a useless subject and often spam.

    i hat that word. Imagind a drive refers to reading all the data into an image. Not formatting and restoring. I lost a lot of data because Sony said they needsed to image my drive. I figured no loss, right. wrong. Sorry about the offtopic, but i hate that term.

    It's usually a big image; it flashes and sometimes won't close. Other varieties open below the window or are partially off screen so you can't close them. Some even try to look like dialog boxes. These annoying ads plague most win32/IE boxes. Open many websites with IE and you'll se these atrocities.

    I hit a page that installed that xupiter toolbar the other day. I say suspicious stuff in the sataus bar and then got an error: "Your browser is not win32 compatable" I laughed. Twice.

    Do you understnd how pagerank works? They need to track what you do, it makes the search engine work better. also, you're identified by a computer number. This is hardly the best way to try and track PEOPLE for the sake of identification at a later date. Until i hear proof of google doing anything bad i'm inclined to say they're ok.

    Who wants Euros that track them? Nobody. Some transactions are better kept off the books. Porn, drugs, etc. People will turn away from euros for those kind of transactions and proboblly for everything to avoid carrying around 2 types of currency. This should help the value of the dollar a lot.

    No. Junk mail is paid for by the sender. SPAM isn't. Junk mail keeps the P.O. alive and relatively inexpensive. SPAM makes you have to buy more mail servers. Big difference.

    Yea, but they are few and far between. It's like a machanic who doesn't like cars. They just don't really exist. btw, i'm sure they have other hobbies, but computers should be a hobby.
