Best geme. Ever. It motivated me to go from stealing parked cars to hijacking them. Also, before i played GTA3 i never shot at the cops, i just ran. Now i unload with my Rocket Launcher. I just wish real life had the GUNS GUNS GUNS cheat and you could get out of jail with just a little money. Oh well, the prison warden says i've gotta go back to my cell now. See ya later.

What about the paint? Paint jobs are pretty silly things, by your logic. They cost money and all they do is act as eye-candy.
If it wasn't for paint, your car would rust through in a month.
Firstly, when gentoo boots you have to wing it to work out how to get online to read the damned thing. Then it tells you to set your USE variables, with *no* documentation about what any of them do (not that it matters, half of the packages ignore them anyway). I also found several factual errors in it (for example stating that files are on the CD that aren't there).
They make these cool things called printers. You can get one at comp use. it allows you to put documents and web pages on paper. They've been around a while you may want to consider getting one. They even work in linux.
emerge doesn't pick the latest versions of stuff either... you end up installing from source anyway. eg. I need the kerberos enabled ssh to work with my network. I had krb5 in my USE but it didn't build with kerberos. It also built an out of date version. I had to manually go in to the package directory and force it to build the latest version (which emerge insisted didn't exist).. which still didn't build with kerberos, so I gave up on it and ftp'd a prebuilt one from a debian machine.
ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~x86" this lets you build the latest version in portage. Also if you rename the ebuild to a version not in portage, it'll build it. Had you read the doc, posted to the forums, etc you'd know this. SSH not using USE="krb5" admittadly isn't good, but you can actually get around that pretty easily. As you're not up to using gentoo i won't post specifics, but it's not that hard.
Also the dependencies suck rocks. I wanted to build a minimal setup and get it working, so I decided to install links. Bad move. It pulled in svgalib (??), most of X and about a million fonts - for a *text mode* browser.
I assume you have USE="X svga" and others (they're defaults a default so you'd need to manually turn them off.) Once again read the docs before flaming.
12 hours is also a bit optimistic - On a dual processor machine I had it building for 3 days.. and at the end half the stuff didn't work anyway. Luckily I can get a debian install on in 20 minutes with a following wind, so I got my machine back without much hassle.
Unltss you were building everything known to man, that's a BS time. I've build a gentoo system (w/ X, flux, phoenix-cvs, xmms, gaim, and abiword) in 8 hours on a k6-2 333mkz compaq laptop, so this is an outright lie.
Abviously gentoo is not for you, but if you'd read the docs and made use of the available support before falming, you, yes even you, could have gotten it working.
Actually, that could be solved just by having a rotate button on the software. it'd save you the trouble of moving around the object and wouldn't have your problem.
other half of sony. This is Sony Electronics, and they're more than happy to help you copy anything and make damn good hardware for it too. However, Sony Music doesn't like that. I'm willing to bet sony's gonna end up sueing itself. That should be interesting.
If you're installing your own HSF you're pretty likely to fuck it up. If you do it's not AMD's fault and they don't want to have to rise prices because a few ididots keep melting their chips trying to install a coller to OC it. As much as everyone hates to admit it, a 3rd party HSF isn't necessary (if you want it istall at own risk).
So you could overclock it to 123312234mhz. Gosh don't you know htere's nothing more important them mhz. All this BS about HDD speeds and internal bandwidth is just BS to make up for the fact that macs aren't overclocable to 123312234mhz. I can overclock any PC with just a metric ton of dry ice for cooling and winxp will boot in less than 10 mins. try that on a mac. HAHAHA
The above was humor. If you mod me informitive i'll shoot you.
i didn't see that. Everything concentrated on the $.99/song thing. This sounds like an improvement on the price fixing front, though i could deal with less going to the middleman but if i had a mac i would be interested at htis point.
And i know about the differnet encoding, but 256 is still a little low to pay for.
The problem with this is its still too damn expensive. My iggest problems w/ the labels is price fixing and this still costs the same or more for an album. (i'm of the mind that artists w/ 1 good song really aren't that good). And the quality is only 128. I can get better than tha on Kazaa.
However, at least the DRM is reasonable so this is a step in the right direction.
Display card: ia assume enything w/ accelerated drivers. im an nVdia boy, but Radeons are supposed to be as good if not better now. Sound Card: anything that works. i've had good experiances w/ onboard sound. AC97 and cmpci iirc. Distro: i wouldn't pick a distro based on gaming. As much as i hate to say it winXP is probobly the best gaimng os. So just use your favorite and im sure you can get it working pretty easily.
impressive numbers. My UPS runs out about every 3 months, so i could never imagin uptime like that. Wait, you mean they go down for reasons other than power. what a sad state of affairs.

just for the record i havne't had a build fail on gentoo in several months.
then we'll just DOS M$
actually there is a debian/win32 in the works. However cgywin uses a really bizzare clibrary whioch makes porting much more ...interesting.
great, so everyone will TALK to their PDAs in meetings. That won't be annoying at all, i'm sure.
I've got some better ones:
"If you can read this it'll be the last thing you read."
"If you can read this you're fucked"
"If you have enough time to read this it broke"
"Fuck France"

Are there plans to bring dual displays to DirectFB. I use it on all my systems except my main one since it's got dual displays.
If the artist want extortion money they shoud get off their lazy asses and go extort people that can't afford legal fees.
they do. I get paid to get rid of them.
uh, dude. What was the res on the first CRTs. What about colors? This thing isn't mature yet, but i'd sure want one.
porn. the killer app for everything.

Ok that was really karma whoring. i think this is enough. (Oh and mod me up too ;)

wayV. It gives you full system mouse gestures. It's the coolest thing. Nothing like it exists for win32.
.17) or *box. Very functional minimalist environs.
X11. remote desktop appeared on *NIX way before MS. While most people dont' use it it's still innovative.
Mouse gestures in browsers and tabbed browsing. Pretty simple, but most prople actually use this.
WMs like E (especially
gaim. possibly the biggest killer app for linux. If not innovative it's sure well done.
xdirectfb. True transparency. Win32 hasn't even dreamed of this yet.
well, that's all the innovation i have open atm.
