    The phone is not in charge of decisions at that level, sorry.

    That's like each a commuter on a train deciding when the train will leave the station....

    Loads are governed by the cell network hardware. Some phones are in cars, moving thru rapidly and they may leapfrog...some are still and they may get priority. For those networks that 'breathe' (expand and contract based on load), it would be especially hazardous if the devices could negotiate which cell on their own....not going to happen :)

    No one should be surprised to find competing layers of effort, working from silos, oblivious to duplication of effort when they look at this.

    It's a symptom, not the issue. It's how govt. works.

    All you sunny day suzies saying how to give obviously haven't actually participated in the process.

    Egos get in the way and battles over priorities eventually break out - resourceful volunteers are left waiting to be utilized - projects suffer from either weak and/or dis-engaged leaders.

    The net effect is that those that do try to come on board and help at whatever level are more often than not ignored and eventually wander away.

    So please stop all this happy talk about how it feels so good to be doing something worthwhile and go do something concrete about the routine ignorance at the top and middle of the pile when it comes to using newcomers.

    Several cities and domestic air museums have already made their bids, etc. more than a year ago. From Disney to Evergreen, everyone wanted either an airframe or an engine. Evergreen had billboards up for more than a year that have been taken down long since.

    No one was interested when they saw the cost to transport, sanitize and decommission just one shuttle.

    So what's happening now? Lawmakers= lobbiests for the NYC tourism board begging with the expectation the tax payers will foot the bill? A shuttle wouldn't last one year exposed to the elements on the deck of the Intrepid Sea. Might as well put them on Antiques Roadshow.

    If anyone can afford it these days, it will be either Dubai or Shanghai.
