Alpine announced last year that some of their 2004 headunits would have the ability to control/charge iPods....this isn't new, and they aren't new to the party.
check it out....not for the meek - all you need is a Comcast HD box w/FireWire and a smattering of developer apps...oh, and considerable hard drive space wouldn't be a bad idea either:)
What will happen when low-cost labor in China is combined with Microsoft technologies?
This 'combination' is far from the first time these two items have come together, and for the record, so far, the first attempts have been feeble - thru no fault of the Chinese, I assure you.
How can you adjust the flow in a system that lacks any mechanism to regulate the flow?
Wow...did you ever fall for a marketing come-on...think for a second and you'll realize how easy it is.
The hotter the temp, the faster the fluid moves thru the Burnoulli tube....no mechanicals involved. When it is cold it doesn't move at all...no moving parts - when it's hot...hey! It moves!!:)
Just like the copper heatsink on the 1.24 GHz G4's....the first 'liquid cooled Mac' !
The marketing guys took liberty with the word 'dynamically' and I'll give you a break and not poke fun. Unless you argue, and then it's "everybody point and laugh at TOTMs! hjehehe!!!"

DVD Studio Pro 3 Review
·
· Score: 4, Informative
Unlike iDVD, DSP will work with other DVD burners besides Apple-blessed SuperDrives.
They must not only establish themselves, but also beat the leaders in price and performance.
This sentence seems to assume some sort of independant startup...some sort of 'competition' - which isn't the case at all.
Seeing as the leading LCD manufacturers (displays, not panels) have been aware of this evolution, and they have the reins in their hands, OLED can come in quickly - no worries.
The KIMP300 series (KingByte Info. Corp - Taiwan), supposedly the world's first HDD-based MP3 playback unit, which was a [non-Mac] Parallel Port to (external) IDE 3.5" Hard Disk + MP3 Player.
...and one that should be greeted favorably all around.
Unlike the ip ban that is akin to shutting the barn door after... It's nice to see some policing going on, but c'mon - a bit late, and the way its' being done...sledgehammer approach - seems a bit inelegant, almost scud-like.
...another AirPort update. Seems Apple would take a hint and give the project to someone that can settle things down. This thing gets updated more than RealPlayer!
The trend...is to more and more. Why restrict yourself to carrying only a portion of your library. I think once these new Mini iPod owners get used to their new toys they'll blow right thru the 1000 mark. I had 100's until I bought my first iPod....I now have thousands, and the iPod is more of a portable HD than anything else.
Dead....gone.....useless...like the corpse of a maggot-ridden woodchuck, laying under the front porch on a hot Alabama afternoon, with nothing left but a faint smell and a few hanks of brittle brown fur - An X-Library.
Lifeless...much like your argument, since the basis of all information is in the minds of men, and not on the shelves in the Library of Congress. This is a format war, not a content debate, and the books of the Han Dynasty, Gutenberg and Archibald Press are all digital now. Paper is just something to wipe your ass with....not a container in a temple.
>If you're going to do something this fancy, why hamstring yourself with the 4GB mini?
I have a DVD player in my Ranger that can handle data DVDs with MP3s. Approx. 450 songs. This means just as much audio as a Mini iPod. My entire music library sits on 6 discs.
If the power went out unexpectedly, I'd probably realize it since the screen would go black -- the "on" LED isn't telling me a whole lot I don't already know.
But if the display is sleeping or in low power mode and/or the computer is hung...?
If your WebPlayer was integrated with your car's computer, then I'm impressed. If not, your example is sufficiently behind the curve to have fallen off the table in the mean time.
OBD II is the key feature that converges yesterday's non-integrated mobile computer with today's integrated and interactive monitoring, communication and entertainment system.

did you really need to be that rude with someone
yawn....

On the contrary....iDVD has always supported other drives, including externals - the enabler at this site brings that to light:

Mac OS X: About Disk Optimization
Do I need to optimize?
You probably won't need to optimize at all if you use Mac OS X. Here's why:

coughipodcough10gbbough25minutescough...
ViMacra
Comcast Digital/HD...straight into the Mac via FireWire...nice...
I definitely understand having a LOT of R&D going to this technology
You do know who manufacturers the wireless cards, right?

guess it's a pretty fucking slow news day.
/. - where's your mind? Not a 'news' site....

Well, I don't know of another place where I can get books for free, do you?
Write them.
Libraries are dead...
