++mod points if I had them.

Bush beat Mccain in 2000 by resorting to hardball tactics that exemplify everything since. A sad day in history, IMHO. I am to blame. I did not vote.

McCain tows the line because that is better for his party, he's a better man than most of us, but I wish he would distance himself, at least to the extent that he stands up in the party against recent hegemonal, arrogant miss-steps, that seem, at least to some degree, to have turned the world against us while sqandering the good will of the world following 9/11.

'They hate us for our freedom' isnt flying anymore and he should publically stick a fork in that idea by showing more respect for the world. I don't see any reason why McCain could not do that. But not if he is still in bed with Bush.

Kick Bush to the curb and ride him like a sheep at the kiddee rodeo. It could be the best thing Bush does for America.

Back when the rumor was that Netscape was on the block i thought for sure Sun would buy it...seemed the best fit...but AOL did and till this day i still scratch my head. They could get a deal on it now and bring a browser into the mix - which has been notably absent thus far.

On to my point, 'The network is the computer' mantra suggests a client/server mentality for Sun and it has the goods to deliver on the backend but not the front end - which, i would argue IS the browser. I hope this mad hatter is good but it would be mad to ignore the obvious synergy between what sun has now and a competent/complimetary browser, like mozilla, which is sound but could use the commercial direction and funding of a large player. This would benefit the entire industry except M$.

Linux + Sun + Apache+ JBoss(or unix .NetMono) + Mozilla + Open Source items = At least a slim chance at gaining ground on redmond.

People speeking freely for a cause deemed just is the cornerstone of america. We know that. Taking actions that endanger appointed officials of the govt(freely elected) is inexcusable.(exposing you and i's privacy is diffenet than openly exploiting Poindexters's privacy/position)

Arrogance toward the 'indignity' of the govt knowing what sites or countries visited or other information whose nature is only threatening if you are doing something wrong. Mocking the very freedom they are benefiting from while concurrently enjoying it's benefits. Pull these stunts in russia, or mexico or south africa and find yourelf in real hurt.

Ignorance to the fact that most of the worlds population would quite happily forgoe certain privacies for Democracy/Capitalism/Freedom enjoyed today by all americans.

Wait till something REALLY bad happens and watch the power of the govt escalate dramatically. Sniveling over insignificant privacy issues that MIGHT strengthen our ability to prevent hit and run massively destructive acts, belies the realities we face and underscores americans coddled nature and apathy for what they've got.

My view point is a utilitarian one - what is best for the most people - it's not ideal or utopic.
