It may not be anything but a statistical anomoly. How we date and locate things has always fascinated me. I.e. this is older because it is underneath this other thing. This volcanic rock is this old because there is this much of a potasium isotope present. We have been acurately recording radiometrics for how long now? 20-30 years? (I know we have been recording them longer but not to the accuracy we can today) So think about the statistics: We look at the decay across 30 years and immediately say it must have a half life of 1.251 billion years? excuse me but thats a pretty small sample rate for my tastes. THis example uses K-AR but that just because I found google hits faster than for carbon isotopes.. sme basic priciple applies though not on as large a scale.
I have certainly returned custom apple systems in the past and have not had any issue whatsoever with it. How long had you had it before trying to return it? Where is your court docket? You are way to lite on details for me to consider this anything but false at this point. Feel free to prove me wrong however.
You are basically talking about AOL which in (now don't laugh) addition to being an ISP (I told you not to laugh) is also a content provider. You can for some fee access their "exclusive" content from non aol-connections.
WHAT IS THE CRIME INVOLVING RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY? Receiving stolen goods is generally buying or acquiring the possession of property knowing (or believing in some jurisdictions) that it had been obtained through theft, embezzlement, larceny, or extortion by someone else. The crime is separate from the crime of stealing the property. To be convicted, the receiver must know the goods were stolen at the time he receives them and had the intent to aid the thief. Paying for the goods or intending to collect the reward for returning them are not defenses. Depending on the value of the property received, receiving-stolen-property is either a misdemeanor or a felony.
There are numerous federal laws that make it a federal crime to receive stolen property (e.g., vehicles, securities) if the property received was or had been in interstate commerce.
Umm no I didn't mean _because_ I mean that XP is a bloated Hog ( no offense intended) IF you are planning on working in the embedded market you can write a driver for your board's chipsets.
OK better phrased would be I have not yet found a file that I cannot decode using a software codec or the mobo intergrated systems in real time. HOw's that? and yes evilviper that includes HDTV signals from my Sat eq.
I don't know what you are trying to do but I have an epia m series 1Ghz windows box that i use for a media PC. Even running XP I have yet to find a codec it can't decode realtime. It is uber responsive when doing software decoding? No but it runs my PVR even while Watching video from disk. The only thing I had to work around was disk access and adding a second and third drive fixed that. 120GB storage drive, 6GB swap drive and 20GB OS/ Software drive and everything runs fine.
Being as I run server and Garage band wont install on server I have to manually update my installations via pacifist. The disadvantage as it can be a pain to update things, the advantage is that I get to see exactly what is being updated.
In this case it is all the spplication itself. The original Garage band.app was 53.3MB the replacement app is 42MB. The AECore framework drops from 1.5MB to 1.4MB DfSearchEngine Wrapper Framework is almost halved in size from 360KB to 195.1KB LoopCore shrinks from 1.1MB to 868.1KB Where the largets difference is in the application resources ( button images and controls and their ilk as well as localization files) It drops from 39.1MB to 27.9MB.
35mm movie film is approximately 5000dpi which is a 20 megapixel image with typically a 1000:1 contrast ratio so that would be the equivalent of a 36bit 86 MB tiff file per frame.
Exposure consistancy is best accounted for by using matched lenses and film stock from the same lot.
No the judges have't forgotten about it.. in fact unfortunately they are busy trying to change it. The lawyers and politicians have however just forgotten about it. But I agree with your point.
The U.S. Constitution. Lawyers and politicians seem to have been forgetting it lately. Course its kind of useless outside of the US and her "territories".
Its nowhere near the same, this guy developed a product while employed at Apple and sold it on the side. In the case of apple employee's working on open source projects liek fire this wsn't an issue because they were begun before the employee's tenure at apple.
When I taught IT I was regularly billed out at $300 an hour, but only made $20 dollars an hour. As a consultant these days (when I can find contracts) I get billed out between $75 - $150 an hour, making usually 1/3 to 1/4th of that. None of that includes taxes such as self employment tax. Overall I typically net 45-55% of my pay. Maybe I should move to India... While it is possible to apply for a visa I have never found an IT professional who was successful in getting one, though I know many who have tried.
I see this as a prime reason the OS movement should embrace RFIDs. If the code to track and reference RFIDs is open then we can also know how to disable them after their legitimate use. It also allows us to know exactly what can and is trackaed by said systems ( or at least give us a big clue) Basicly reverse microsoft's embrace / extend / break philosophy, after all keep your friends close and your enemies even closer neh?
Don't worry nobody is violating the laws of thermodynamics. The difference comes from efficiency. Gasoline reciprocal engines are really not very efficient. Plus depending on the transmission you can loose 75% of your power output from the engine through the differential. Move the engine to the wheels and engine output == force at wheel plus you no longer need brakes as the engine can now be used as a brake. I have been tinkering for a while with a turbine generator driving the rear wheel of a 3 wheeled vehicle based exactly on this process, Currently I use diesel fuel but the idea could be done with hydrogen by changing the injection system and converting the blades to a ceramic rather than metal , and thats still using combustion! Diverting the hydrogen through a fuel cell should be even more efficient.
Small claims court allows lawyers.. In an advisoryt role or to represnt themselves or even in possibilities such as this to represent a corporation. But I was not refering to a lawyer having to come over. Even an employee's time is worth something.
if you paid them anything other than cash and it doesn't ship out in 90 days you have grounds for a small claims court judgement. With cash I think it is 120 days. Needless to say go to small claims court and file a suit against them for the amount of the prepay + whatever it costs you to file ( usually about 10 dollars) and unspecified legal costs. I can virtually garantee you that you will have a check from them before the court date. The reason? even if they feel they are entirely correct in not refunding you it will cost them more to send someone over to sit in the courtroom than what they owe you.
Note I am not a lawyer but I often work with them. The specifics may be different from municipality to municipality but the court can advise you on the specifics. Thats why we vote for all those JPs and such.
did i say anything about perl vs php? No did i say php is or uses grep? no i didnt say that either.
Oh and for the record.. I develop medical security and legal databases more secure than banking software and a hell of a lot larger than anything you have ever seen. How can I say that? Well deployed my last project was 27TB. Oh yeah and it was built using PHP does that qualify me as a php developer? Sheesh. Learn to read the whole post and don't immediately jump to conclusions. Are there better tools than php? Absolutely are teh ones you mentioned ( as well as my own mentionings) better than php certainly. does php suck at regular expressions? Hardly. Why do I even bother.
Its not uncommon to find out that your chipsets and or system exceed its book specs. If this is the case a company has 4 options 1)Drop the earlier product 2)Keep selling the product as is (unused potential) 3)Sell both drop the price of the first one 4)Sell both keep the old one the same price introduce the new one at a higher price.
In the GA marketplace can you blame them for chosing the path they did? Besides they aren't getting the same the new card peforms better even if it is only because of the bios.
The poster means that one should use PHP to parse the Logs. It is quite possible and very easy to use it in such a manner. Its a pity that BBEdit doesnt run on x86 or I would suggest that but in all honesty anything that will allow you to use grep is essentially ideal for parsing logs. save as csv and any spreadsheet around wil open it fine. Best 3 things about grep? 1) Flexability 2) Speed 3) Price Oh and as to your statement that PHP is lacking in the 3rd party lib field? And you comment that php isn't very good at parsing text, well you might want to stop smoking that crack. or maybe get your head out of Larry's
Heh last week I was transfering data through one of my media drives for archiving when the windows box I was transfering from crashed. Rather than reboot i opted to manually delete the open files sudo rm -r (insert a bunch of files here)I should have checked the command length as appeaently the command I copied into my terminal was clipped I would up erasing the entire drive. 180GB gone.
Worst Tech mistake I ever made? Using personal licenses on company machines.
