    I compiled mozilla with gcc 3.2.1 with "-O2 -fomit-frame-pointer -march=k6-2", but the performance is....

    Anyway, I have entirely disappointed on mozilla and now it's only used to valid my html pages...

    Yep, I know they're really cool, and very helpful for some high-tech industry, but they're also very expensive! I don't disagree with those prjects, but today there're lots of people starving or suffering from wars or crimes or diseases in the world, and they're in urgent need of money!! Aren't these far more important??

    Oh, if you get crappy performance in X, you should use Window Maker or fvwm.

    It improves nothing if they still use applications of KDE or GNOME.... And for most of linux newbies, this would kill them.

    Hey!! That's the problem -- If all applications have the same look-and-feel, using linux is not cool anymore. This feature would make it as plain as MacOS/X and Windows (I HATE them).

    What you must realize, though, is that if you want Linux to be widely accepted, supported, and user friendly, a common user interface is a must.

    Or just ape MacOS and Windows?

    What they say "Trust" means the M$ can trust your computer and what you're doing on it. I guess M$ will even install auto-weapons on the computers to ensure this.
