The skater with the arms is the correct one. A whole lot of rock falling in on itself. It will be interesting to see pictures of the area and see the dent where it happened, but the earthquake itself took place about 5 miles under that so I don't know if anything will be visible.
Some but not really noticable.
This type of thing happens all the time(just not this large at once), because of tides, smaller earthquakes, etc. What they do is once it starts adding up they do a leap second.
It is a rare event, in having the earthquake in that area, the force of the earthquake and then the size of the tsumani, so why spent resources on a something like that.
And if you were planning to track prisoners and homeless why would you use the RFID standard?
Thier are better ways of doing it(read up of USSR spying and tracking methods) then using RFID.
We are starting to get some reports on the technology available, and the warning systems for the pacific ocean. The problem with this is that the event is extermly rare, and it is even rarer in the place it took place. So don't expect much to happen technology wise.
The US USGS did send a warning but most of the countries effected were not one the list.
The tsunami from the Canary Island would take longer then that. From a couple of sites it would take around 6 hours to reach England, the wake would travel over 1 mile in land and the wave would be around 40 feet tall. It would take less then an hour to reach africa.
To reach the US would take around 7 hours and because of the open ocean would reach about 20 miles in land and be around 200 feet tall.
Speed at land fall would be around 500 mph for both places.
miss cleo, actually the companies that had hired her, were fined(which took them off the air) for scamming people. More specificly they were fined for engaging in deceptive advertising, billing, and collection practices.
By leaving that out you are deliberatly impling that here "psychic" abailities were the reason.
It is far less then $30 out of a $50 going to the publishers.
Half of the cost is going to the wholesaler and to the seller, rather standard for most items. Then you have the development company who will get around $15, which they have to pay royalties and costs assicated with development, any loans they got, and some other costs. Then you have publishers who will get the remaining $15, and have costs of manufacturing, advertising, etc.
From the perspective of a person who uses a windows based computer at work, I am worried if windows media player is removed.
The music player is one piece of software that most businesses do not consider a necessity, and if one is not installed chances are they will not install an alternative.
However I don't think this portion will have much effect. Microsoft will say it does not cost that much to include it and point to other free players as an indication of cost. So you will have a choice of windows with or without and the price will not be that different.
It also takes in a waste period for hollywood.
It would be interesting to compare movie sales for May through August verse this.
Summer is the main time for movies, and is a dead time for computer games. By August you have the movies with big names but did not test well, and people who have not seen previous summer blockbusters. Come fall/winter it swaps around with games being a big seller and movie taking a back seat. Movie have tried to work around this by making Thanksgiving and Christmas a time for more family film, or known sequels(bond, star trek, etc)
While it is interesting that during this time period games outsold people going to movies, it does not indicate a trend.
Hollywood will continue to base success on the first couple of weeks because that is when they get a huge percentage of the money movie theathers take in.
After week 2 the percent of money the theather owner takes in increases.
All that happened is that last month the GPS was designated a critical resource and that in the event of a need thier must be some process in place that allows for turning off during a national crisis.
Nothing major and right up thier with government plans on how to turn off power in the event of a national crisis.
No real impact except proof that some people are thinking ahead and planning for the worst possible events.
I guess if you can belive that the US and other contries planned a near worldwide consensus, including thoses againt against forcing Iraq to hold to thier aggrements, that they should all agree that Iraq had WMD when they actually did not; then yes President Bush lied.
Do have a question though. Do you believe the current information that thoses against the war are currentl saying, that Saddam was planning to implement programs in the future and was currently lieing low? If so, the equipment he would need for that has also not been found.
Blizzard is not the first to do this. Sony, Mythic and others all have policies restricting the sale of in game items for real world items.
Some have already contacted the major auction sites saying that sales should be forbidden.
What will happen is that you will be an initial handfull of people banned or punished then they will stop. It cost to much money to prevent it and even then you cannot stop the majority of it. If they were really serious about it go after the companies that sell money in game such as IGE. You will not see Blizzard doing that.
Why blizzard is following other companies in doing this is for legal protection. You make this policy and then if people get ripped off you can point to the policy and say it not suppose to of taken place , so they can do nothing about it.
Except that link leads to a 404 error. I removed the space between 20 and 03 and that found a page.
However that pages that not have anything you reference. It does have this quote
" Intelligence gathered by this and other governments leaves no doubt that the Iraq regime continues to possess and conceal some of the most lethal weapons ever devised. This regime has already used weapons of mass destruction against Iraq's neighbors and against Iraq's people."
So you are saying that he knew that the US and other counties intelligence had not gathered information about the Iraq regime having such weapons or you saying that they had not used such weapons before?
You will usally see two numbers in the US, number of unemployed and number collecting unemployment.
Number of unemployed being all thoses without a job, this includes thoses that left a job but had not yet found a new job for any amount of time. However before and after certain age you are no longer considered a member of the working pool so you are not counted.
Number of thoses collecting unemployment while an interesting number is generally worthless, except as an indication of thoses new people unemployed. IIRC federal unemployment is only good for a set amount of months, with some states provinding more welfare.
As for prisoners that gets really hard. As a general rule they are not counted, if they are in jail(considered out of the working pool) however if they were fired before being convicted they would be considered unemployed. Also some states allow prisoners to collect unemployment compensation so they get counted in thoses numbers.
When did Bush lie about Iraq?
Please name just one item.
Did he look at the latest information provided by US intelligence and other information provided by other goverments intellences and then take action on what that intellence was saying was happen. Yes.
Did alot of that information turn out to be wrong. Yes.
Is that lieing? No.
Comparing the two with a cake.
EQ2 would be the great tasting cake, but the frosting and looks would be so-so with some unevenly applied. however once you get past the looks it taste really good.
WoW is the cake that looks fantastic, everything is polished and perfect you just want to look at it forever. However once you get past the frosting and take a bite, the cake is rather bland.
Meeting up with other people is not a problem, you just agree that you will be meeting in instance and that is were everyone goes. Same way people do it in CoH. Some places even have bells you just ring them and select the instance you want to go to.
Instancing of the outdoor areas is really nice, since it keeps population down thier is no problem with people camping one specific site. No problem with meeting up with other people as you can quickly jump to a difference instance if you need.
WoW does have alot of grouping, but it is more of the goto quest start, wait around for others doing same quest, do quest, group breaks up. Alot of people do skip theses quests since it is easy to max out without having equipment near the max levels. That said you could solo from 1 to 60 totally solo, would probably requiring grinding a few times when solo only quests are non-existance.
As for future and high level grouping.
All the PvP and high level content is hugly group based, some raids designed for 40 people. Once you hit higher levels(2-3 months depending on play) you can group or just solo old dungeons that you would of done as a group levels below.
The devs in WoW have said that a major push of future stuff in WoW will be more group based.
Frankly it will be really interesting(in a cruel way) to see all the people when they start hitting the upper levels are are forced to start grouping. Will also beable to see if WoW can change the focus of the game from solo to more group. It worked so well for other games, such as AC2, that tried to change the way the game worked after release.
It is not really a problem. Thier are several well known accreditation boards which are accepted. The boards range in accrediting the whole school to ones that accredit just a degree.
As for employees most don't worry about it. Thier is a set of books which they use, they look up the school and can check who it is a accedited by and dates. The human resource department does this, at the same time it is verifing that the person actually graduated.
When did Bush lie about Iraq's nuclear program?

You don't know a thing about Walmarts demographics.
Walmart does a good job of hitting all salary ranges with most of it coming from middle income, very little from low income. Go read thier yearly report for info.
What hurt walmart in November has been widly documented, they only had increase sales of.7% instead of the estimated 2-4% which is the reason they are saying they had poor sales, and it was that they decided this year to not a huge amount of sales on black friday. This hurt walk in traffic as people went other places.
BTW on black Friday Walmart's big sellers were digital cameras, video games, learning toys and combinations of TVs and DVDs
You can get close to the old format.
Click on a group, then at the top of the messages, click on 'Viewing titles only'. This removes all the text and gives you just a listing of all message titles.
Now insides of a message goto the top, and just above first message you will see a link of 'view as tree'. It still is missing the previous, next links at the bottom. Also it does not have that bar along the side of the tree showing you which messages are in the other frame.

I was thinking more of alien cam from Alien 3.
