    The MEDIA doesn't want you to comment on the news. Yahoo was the last bastion for hope until this change came along.

    Tell me, what news writer wants people to post and call him out on his lies? Did you ever wonder why other news sites don't let you comment on news articles?

    most likely microsoft will just have a few online forms that you fill out to re-enable the license. i dont think it will be as bad as it sounds. the have already been testing something like that with XP. its a process similar to when you download the Windows Defender thing... it installs a active x plugin in your browser that validates your copy and then it asks you some questions about what the CD looks like and what is written on the cover of the XP cd, etc...

    this is Linux, remember? you are on your own, no matter what Linux variety you choose. Automatix has worked perfect for me but I haven't tried it in a v6.x of the OS yet...

    yes, you use Ubuntu and then run the script that is called Automatix (there is another called 'Easy Ubuntu' but I have never tried it).

    i know it looks silly to see a ramp that goes upwards but as long as the ramp has the same radius as the accelerator loop itself then your idea would not really improve it at all.

    exactly. id love to see electronic results put online so that all voters could logon and flag their vote as "verified and correct" so that after an election people could go online and see if their vote was correct or not and also to see if other people are flagging theirs as good. your idea about having some kind of "checksum" is good also and also every person should be able to go home with their paper "receipt" of their vote.

    the new firefox 2.0 beta will query the Google blacklist... its built into the browser and you can enable it by just checking a checkbox in the browser settings...

    ive never had stability problems with Firefox and I am a very tough browser user... I have had stability problems with Thunderbird but not in the last 6 months. Both are very stable on windows xp.

    Sony has even more memory stick formats coming. I just bought the sony ericsson w800 with a 2GB memory stick pro duo and now they announce a newer version of the phone on http://gsmarena.com/ that takes a different memory type.

    therefore i cant just upgrade my phone and use the old memory sticks. im not a customer any more of sony.

    if the best thing that conspiracy theoriests can come up (which are the only events that occurred with 100% certaintly by the proof which came to be presented) with in the last 20 years is the Monica Lewinsky cover-up and the Abou-Grabe prison scandal, then I stand by my word that conspiracy theorists have hardly anything to go on.

    1. no weapons in Iraq (never proved for certain)
    2. Carl Rove coverup (such a mess well never know)
    3. JFK (still a mystery)
    4. WTC being blown up (nothing certain here)
    5. federal reserve (we feel it but nobody can prove anything)
    6. etc...

    yes, exactly. there are many many conspiracy theories concerning our government and the public has yet to expose one of them. Our government therefore has a 100% success rate with tricking the public. Only God himself could do such perfect work.

    yes. the fact that the government doesn't publicly publish EVERYTHING immediately just shows that they have something to hide. The fact that 300,000,000 americans cannot see the video because of one dork in court is just ridiculous. Someone should be fired for this secretive shit.

    after reading all the comments on that article, it was obvious that people had a problem with the usability of Fedora. I have also had problems wrestling with that distrobution. i had to chime in and show my support for Ubuntu, which is the first linux distro I have ever seen that works great right out of the box.

    i know that my comment wasn't directly related to the topic, but I was relevant.

    I have been a linux user/tester since early versions of Debian in 1996. Ubuntu 5.10 is the only distrobution out of a hundred I have tried in the last 10 years that worked as well as windows right out of the box.

    Specifically, all the multimedia stuff worked out of the box.

    All i did was install Ubuntu and then run the Automatix script. It worked like a charm and I am now a happy linux user once again. It worked so well that it is drawing me away from windows for use as my file sharing client computer.
