I have an old Winfast 2000 tv tuner card (not the XP version) and with the new drivers/software from leadtek I can record TV shows flawlessly, it even supports straight to VCD DVD burning. (previous driver/software versions DIDN'T WORK AT ALL:P )
I would love to try Both Windows Media Center AND Myth. Knoppix has TV tuner software but I cant seem to make it work with the winfast... anyone could?
This MUST be a troll...
The only other person I heard that had surplus LCD displays in such quantity as to build a window or "Live art Window" is Bill Gates.;)
p.s.: First post?:P
The Stephen King Dark Tower series...
"North Central Positronics Ltd. in association with LaMERK Industries Presents...Portable Nuclear Reactor (Many Other Functions)"
"...that we were when bell-bottom pants were cool."
You mean in 1973, no...maybe 1990, no... i guess perhaps you mean 1997..damn.I give up!!!...
Fashion is cyclic.Perhaps the answer to this problem is cyclic too! That would explain why is it so hard to find.:P
I work as tech support for an american firm, in the Argentina branch.
I am Argentinian and speak decent( I'd like to think) english.
IMHO the cultural barrier that so many of you refer to IS there but if the Tech Support guy is good, it ends up being irrelevant. On the other hand if the guy sucks, the nationality issue becomes instantly irrelevant;).
I submitted this story...
Friday May 14, @11:15AM result....Rejected
I am not complaininggg!!!:)
I am just happy of the outcome anyway, I was begining to suspect it was only a rumor.
The upgrade is available as of this morning.
This is certainly a benefit for me, as I use my Yahoo mail account a lot and the spam filter is as good as it gets IMHO.
You reminded me of the Phil Hartman Skit at SNL.... If I had half a mod point y would give it to you... FUNNY!
p.s.:I guess I should be content enough as this was my first accepted submission to slahdot, heyyy!:)
Some 8 years ago, I suggested a "microwave fridge"
to a friend, he dismissed it as impossible... but his mother who happened to be there (and also happens to be a major Physics major) liked the idea and after some years of occassional debate between her and her college professor-type friends, they phoned me to tell me that sound waves would do the trick...:P At least now I know I wasnt so crazy after all!:P
I sincerely believe that it could be possible to market this at 600 bucks.
The only problem for me seems to be that when a device comes out that fills people's expectations (as in price/performance) usually there is not enough production capacity to satisfy demand, leading to disastrous results.
It happened a LOT OF TIMES with apple (i.e. powerbooks in the 90's)
Have you copyrighted "Skip IT" ??!!
May I get your permission to make t-shirts off it?
I sense that they would sell like hotcakes here in/.
mmmm, Im thinking Typography....What was the name of the font you spelled "SINCLAIR" with?:P
I started that way, in htat link, 2 years ago.
Japanese language has 6 levels of difficulty.
I am now at level 5, (6,5,4 up the difficulty level ladder).
And I just love it.
A lot of the things I like are in japanese, so I said, what the fuck! one day I bought a beautiful adventure game to play in my PS emulator and found out all the text was in japanese and very VERY unlikely to be transleted. That really got me going.
Sayonara.

If you start looking for remakes, you will find out one of the most active "scenes" is the Sinclair Spectrum games remakes. Check out www.remakes.org
This family certainly does not learn the lesson!
His mother "expressed an interest in learning what I was doing". Behold, one of the signs of the apocalypse!

At least Crichton worked the tech part OK this time. Because the rest of the book is as dead as Cyndi Lauper's recording carreer. Prose on prozac.
