    No. Believe it or not some of us don't need a seperate word for non-Americans in space. Cosmonaut was the Russian word for Astronaut (though I'd still guess its popularization had something to do with the cold war).

    Perhaps its popularization had something to do with the fact that Russians were the first to reach space?

    Well some light plane *almost* got shot down when approaching Dimona area couple of years ago.

    I can certainly imagine some mid-range Soviet commander panicking and ordering it down, despite the identification as civilian aircraft, if it flew above some nuclear base, or similar.

    I rarely have memory leaks in my programs. Why? Because I always put the "free" near the "malloc" in my source code. Any program that doesn't do this, even if it happens to work correctly today, has a problem.

    So, how long till you finish the highschool, and start writing real programs?

    Check out Unison File Synchronizer.

    It's bi-directional file/directory synchronizer, works over just ssh, cross-platform, very fast.

    Extremely useful when you need to keep, say, home and university accounts in sync, or do remote backups.

    What's bullshit? I've coded professionally in C++ for about 6 years, and Python for about 6 months. I guarantee you I could code any algorithm quicker in Python then C++. It simply takes a lot less lines to do anything in Python and you spend a lot less time doing non-algorithm related stuff.

    Perhaps you are a bad C++ programmer. I guarantee you I could code any algorithm quicker in C++ than you would in Python. What's your TopCoder rating?

    if you can specify the exceptions to your function via a "throw(int code)" type statement, then do so rather than using a comment.

    This will impair the efficiency due to exception conformancy checks.

    Besides, mandatory specification of thrown exceptions for each function is the Java way, which has already been admitted as a bad decision by Java designers.

    In my country (Israel, and I think it's the case in most others), blank ballot's purpose is to write a candidate or a party name on it, if you don't want to use ready ballot, or the booth is out of ballots you need.

    In some countries, you can vote for "no one", this is the case for at least Russia. Mandatory voting should include such option, so I guess it's also the case in Greece and Belgium.

    Everybody seems to be giving this guy a hard time because he did his research for reading only English.

    Almost all of Slashdot audience is absolutely worthless when it comes to real science, but you see - they don't think about themselves that way. They think that they have valuable opinons on such topics, and only with that in mind, do they start to form these opinions.

    You have to understand that while you progressed over the years, the audience of this forum remained the same. It's still the same 14-17 years old pretentious kids with no clue, and inner angst stemming from sexual deprivation.

    The moment that you realize that Slashdot and similar sites are entirely useless and only suitabe for rare mild amusement will be one of those life-changing moments. Opinions of clueless kids are not important! Whether they agree with you or not is completely irrelevant to anything that matters. Just leave them to themselves.
