I just copied a random 2 056 265 728 bytes file in 37 seconds between HD 1 and HD 2 (320GB sata 2 seagate drives) which makes an average of 55 574 479 bytes per second...
No, I clearly used the capital B for byte, rather than b for bit, since I really have those speeds (that's what HD Tach report, at least) and I would notice a 8 times slower speed while copying GB of data between HDs..
Humm there's something wrong with your numbers.. With my SATA drives I have an average read speed of 70-80 MBps and burst speed of 250MBps.. My Raid-0 had an average read speed of 120MB/s and was using 2 old sata-1 HDs..
I went from a 3200+ which was running at ~2.3ghz to a core 2 duo 6600.. I get about 3 times the performance of what I had before, so I don't call that a small change. I kept the same video card and the games that I play are much faster, and the time it takes when I use video editing software went down by a lot. I wasn't planning to change but I got an offer for my system, and it was totally worth it:)
Sadly, you are wrong about the population growth & immigration being enough to take care of the top of the pyramid. Here, in Quebec, we are about 110 billion under the 'market cap'.. we would need an incredible amount of immigrants or general population growth..
"Even more importantly, if an unauthorized person tries to record the knocking sequence and play it back in order to open the door, the lock will not open since the knocking sequence changes every time."
Did you actually take the time to read the patent ? In fact, the editor didn't read it either.
This patent is for a web based tool that would auto-magically create rich-media application as the low-intellect user would like to have, and it has to look good too...
I don't think anyone right in his mind would like to try to make something like this;)
Yeah.. should have bought stock of this company 3 days ago when I got a spam message telling me to invest because they would be climbing fast (get 3-4 of those a day..). Selling today would have multiplied my investment by 3 !
If you really have 9 out of 10 items brought from the AH, thus you really never made it far. I only bought plates from the AH when I reached lvl 40. Afterward, there was some nice quest that provided me new equipments, that could not be found at the AH. There is much better weapons that are soulbound, than those that aren't (notwitstanding some epics, but you don't have the money to buy them anyway on your first run to 60). The instances nicest items are all bind on pickup, so you can't buy those either. Then, don't forget the PVP rewards, or the items you can buy from the factions for which you obtained good reputations. At all time, I maybe had a maximum of 4 items from the AH and perhaps a total of 11 for my whole life to 60..
Oh yes there is quite a lot of fraudulent seller. I tried, for about a full month, to get my hands on a 6800GT for a good price, when the 6600 just had been out on the market. At that time I was closely following every auction on those, and I quickly noticed a pattern between a few sellers & buyers. For those sellers, if an unknown price wasn't reached, someone (always the same set of users) were bidding at the last minute, to win it and make sure it would not sell for lower than they intended. There is no reasons real people would have bought at the price they were putting, since it selled less at the retail, and yet they kept doing it every day, 8-12 times a day. (yes, there was many of those) When the price was higher than the retail, that really seemed like real people battling for it, and just not noticing they were paying too much...
Even the "notes" the buyer were leaving were making no sense at all! I did try to win many auctions, at prices that were "ok" and only one was lost to a real user. I did put a complaint, and kept trying, but they just sent me an automatic reply telling me they could not tell me anything about what will happen, if anything.
Last I checked, those sames users were still scamming everyone:(
I believe those site show an "average experience" from previous users, where they can vote so you know if it's a good, not so good, or bad shop. You can also read what they said about it, so if they experienced long delivery time, or anything bad, you can chose another one..
I don't really mind the price difference, and I mostly buy from canadian stores, even if the prices after currency exchange & duties would be lower than the one I have to pay, since there's no hassle for me and it's easier to rely on them. Warranties support is another thing that could change which shop is chosen.
While the ordering of the shops from pricegrabber is solely the price, it does give much more to those who are really looking =)
From what I had read, they are keeping every encrypted data, and since most of mine is encrypted, I had used the whole BW has an approximation. Don't they keep it all so they can try to decrypt and know what is going on in encrypted connection (VPNs) ?
I, alone, have average bandwidth usage over 200GB per month. I pay the equivalent of 20 euros per month, and my contract is set for this price for 2 years. Considering a 200GB sata hard drive cost around 90 euros, they would lose 70 euros per month to save that data, not counting the power and the required hardware to manage that.. Then they have to decode / decrypt. I agree that after a while there should not be as many new HD required but still..
That might be very bad since "journaling the changes" would still have to do the operations you previously did. In some case, that could happen to be very long computations, or they could be seeded from the mouse / timer and thus you could obtain a different result... I don't think that's the kind of behavior a user would except from autosave options
Who allowed this bullshit to go through ? First, no company that respect itself would show a web page like this one. Ok, their device (6.8ghz) to read their memory might be legit, but which intel board with the 855 support four pentium M, again ?
And their 2GB device, I mean, 2TB device, that use 5V and 2.5 --> MICRO -- amps to WRITE 6GB per second ? It would take much more just to have the circuit resistance beaten =)
They also claim 2000g operating shock.. Anyone know what that would do to this small 2GB flash dri.., err, 2TB ram:)
I guess you still have a P3-500 ? If you've bought a recent computer, you should have noticed that many boards offer what is called gigabit ethernet - offering 1000Mbps. While this is good, many motherboard even go to offer 2 connections like those. If you want more, you can get dedicated hardware that could support up to 10Gbps for an "acceptable" price.
Also, have you ever seen an optical fiber cable ? Those got the records for the speed;)

So you like rmaing things and that's why you get a MAC ? Good for you, I'll stay on my hand chosen hardware and I won't return anything ;)

then the judges will be able to read it ..
Rest assured that the tank would win on the racetrack. No way is he gonna miss the porshe ;)
You can't get a precision less than an atom wide so your encyclopia either contain not much, or your metal bar is very long :)

never, you just watch the movies ?

will it be able to send the 3D sound generated throught the optical connection or it will still send only 2 channel ?
most cinemas don't have a digital video setup : thus you see the whole frame the whole time as it's a film roll with a light behind...
You know what 32 bits mean, right ?

Can someone get rid of him ? Just pass on him with your latest police car .. and make sure to do it 3-4 times, just to be sure ;)
