This is the form factor I wanted - a taller Model 3 with a hatchback. However just like the Model 3, it has no dash, most controls are menus on the screen, unintuitive door handles, too pricey and only manufacturing the more expensive models first, got to wait another 1.5 - 2 years.
I was excited to see the Model 3 on the road initially, but now I am sick of seeing them. They could have at least tried to given the Model Y some unique design styling.
In 2020, there will be much more competition in the electric vehicle market. I'd prefer a charging port mounted around the front of the vehicle, no tracking, and an actual real dash with controls + a big screen. We'll see.
Being a gamer and growing up with a Commodore 128 and moving to PC, there are a few things that really wowed me:
1. Amiga graphics
2. Macintosh resolution (although just black and white)
3. Doom shareware - and creating a multiplayer LAN
4. Star Control 2 music (mod files)
5. GLQuake with a 3dfx Voodoo card
6. Maybe SGI computers. Maybe ATI and nVidia graphic demos.
I can't say anything else has really made my jaw dropped. I loved changing technology and couldn't wait to see what came next, but these day everything is just blah, but maybe that's just me getting older.
Well I've always been a Firefox user and felt it was getting slow and bloated, but I am loving this update. I did a speed test this morning from www.speed-battle.com and peacekeeper.futuremark.com and Firefox 57 beat out Chrome 62 by quite a margin in most tests.
Now, if Slashdot would change its favicon to use transparent corners instead of white corners, that one tab of mine wont look so funny.
True, but this will save you very little. Think of all possible 12 character passwords as a 13 character password with a null character for the last character.
If you have a character set of 80 characters, this will only save you 1/80th of the total possible password combinations.
This is a bad thing. Yes, there are a few bad cops who get put on Youtube and become many people's understanding of what a cop is.
These are just people trying to do their job. How would you like to have people filming you work, ready to scrutinize your actions with millions of internet viewers?
Tablets came out. Many basic users who used to buy a computer figured a tablet was good enough for them now. PC sales rapidly declined and the death of the PC was declared. I'm sure Windows 8 had a part in that too. Now as the tablet market has stabilized, sales numbers should as well.
Most gaming services don't show other users your IP address as things like a DoS could happen. Unless they are the admins of the game or you are using a third party service that they have access to such as a Teamspeak/Ventrillo server, guild/forum web server, etc. Be careful of what you visit.
Also, even the best router is not going to stop your internet pipe from getting flooded with incoming packets.
So if a person is about to step out from behind a parked car and the driver is actually paying attention to the road, send him an alert to the dashboard which makes him briefly take his eyes off the road to read a message? Seriously?
The network monitor looks nice for troubleshooting. I'll be using that in the future. It also has a 3D button which is pretty cool, good for showing the different elements of a web page.
I don't care for the sharing feature. I guess the icon only shows up if you login to Facebook, so I'll never see it.
Blizzard used to by favorite gaming company. Now I loathe them. The recent huge disappointment of Diablo 3, the no LAN play in SC2, and with how I heard they seriously dumbed down WoW, Blizzard won't be getting anymore of my money.
Yes, I agree the apps are useless, but my Samsung SmartTV is great for playing.mp4 and.mkv files. It will even play.mt2s files you can find on Blu-Ray disks.
I just plug in a 1 TB WD Passport portable hard drive to my TV, and use this as my media center. No extra devices need to be turned on. It can also play directly from computer shares, but my wireless access of the TV to the living room is quite poor.
Hmm tried it out. It would be perfect without all the mouseover / javascript crap. Checked out settings and I don't even see the option to disable it. I don't know why every web page has to annoy me these days by popping up menus or "over"-highlighting things by just moving the mouse over it.
and then add a small SSD with the savings for the OS/apps. The new BIOS/chipsets even allow you to combine them so that the SSD is used as a large cache drive.
Looking at all of my devices (monitors, computer, keyboard, mouse, phone, etc.), everything is rectangular with rounded corners. The only variance is how much the corners are rounded and how thick it is. What nonsense.
Back then I remember hearing about this Phoenix web browser referred to as Mozilla Lite that was just a few MB and I loved it. Now I have watched as Firefox has grown, but the bloat has as well. Well at least 15 MB is still nothing these days.
Fringe is one of my favorites, like a modern day X-files and the only show that my wife will watch on TV. I was really surprised to learn that it may be canceled, especially after it just got the 2011 People's Choice Award for best Sci-fi/Fantasy show. I guess it isn't dumb downed enough like all the other shows that people want to watch which good good ratings. I am ashamed.
I have to agree and glad someone else commented on this. This has been the only time in my PC experience that I have ever been awed by PC sound - similar to being awed by graphics from Doom and then Glquake. Star Control 1 had midi music, but after I bought SC2, my college roommate and I were astonished by what we heard. Digitized music (Amiga mod style) coming from a game that came on a few 1.44MB floppy disks, not to mention that the music was good and I still load them up sometimes.
b) The woman for opening it and infecting the computer?
c) Yahoo for not blocking it?
d) The hospital for not only allowing internet access from a computer with personally identifiable information, but for also allowing the spyware to get installed.

Wow, it's so good I can even tell the difference in the first variant!

Look at the pre-market line. The 3% was for Wednesday. Down around 9% now.

With Starfriend, the SC2 LAN enabler, 3-4 days a week after hours at work with coworkers.
Agreed, but the fall of Blizzard started with the closure of Blizzard North, a few years before the Activision merger.

Yes, the lite version seems to be what I'm looking for. Thanks!

And I thought they were talking about this magnetic toy that I have a few sets of and thought how odd. http://www.getbuckyballs.com/
