  1. Find a cure for cancer first on Is SETI Worth It? · · Score: 0, Troll

How about we dedicate spare CPU cycles to cancer research (or some other worldwide disease like AIDS). Instead of finding life on distant planets, how about we fix life on ours.

  2. FPS gaming gets me every time on Does Computer Use Actually Cause Carpal Tunnel? · · Score: 1

Whenever I get into a new FPS on my computer and click a lot with the mouse, I notice that after a week the back of my mouse hand is incredibly sore, especially when trying to click. Then I stop for a week and the pain goes away. This happens to me EVERY TIME I start up with a new game. It sucks. I have never gotten sore hands from typing though... and I am a developer. But don't even try to tell me that over-use of a mouse doesn't lead to problems because I know from my own multiple experiences that it does.

  3. It's awesome!!! on Vista Pirates To Get "Black Screen of Darkness" · · Score: 1

This is like when my wife, who teaches high-school computer science, gives out free student copies of Visual Basic .NET for the kids to install at home only to find that Windows refuses to install it because all the kids have pirated Windows! HA HA, that's just awesome! MS are dying.

  4. Reversed for me on Brain Differences In Liberals and Conservatives · · Score: 0, Troll

When I was young, I had no heart and I supported right-wing ideas. Today, older and wiser, I have also developed more of a heart and I mostly support left-wing ideas. Whoever made that statement about old person being a liberal having no brains is obviously wrong.

  5. CNet? on What Your Favorite Web Sites Say About You · · Score: 1

WTF?! CNet? Who the hell is addicted to CNet?! Nobody. What does it mean if I visit almost all these sites daily (excluding CNet and Twitter)? Also, this is the first time I ever heard of twitter, but it sounds relatively cool. CNet can suck it though.

  6. I remember when they opened the source on Sun Says OpenSolaris Will Challenge Linux · · Score: 2, Insightful

I remember when Solaris was going open source and everybody was saying how they would over take Linux... well, it hasn't happened... not even close. So why the optimism from Sun now?

  7. No techie will believe this! on Microsoft Axes 'Get The Facts' · · Score: 4, Insightful

But I guess that's the problem... techies know the truth, but they have to battle against the ignorant manager who believes the shit MS writes.

  8. My TV viewing is already 100% a la carte! on FCC Head Supports Ala Carte Cable · · Score: 1

About 2 years ago I cancelled my cable. I buy seasons of TV shows on DVD or I just download them via bittorrent. To me, cable is dead.

  9. Re:Ubuntu developers are fools on Do "Illegal" Codecs Actually Scare Linux Users? · · Score: 1

The Ubuntu developers are obviously not as skilled in the arts of deceit and trickery yet. You can't expect them to compete with the likes of Microsoft, whose employees are trained on this from day one, it being basically the creed of the company.

  10. Wrong on Humans Evolved From a Single Origin In Africa · · Score: 1

  12. More fear mongering on Wireless Networks Causing Headaches For Businesses · · Score: 0, Offtopic

This is the same as when some were claiming that wireless causes cancer. Now they're blaming every little headache they get on it. Yes, lets blame all our health problems on magic invisible waves.

Notice: I'm not stupid and I do realize it doesn't mean that kind of headache, just playing with your heads... mod be down you wankers

  13. Sound of silence on OpenSuSE to Release Linux Distro for Educators · · Score: 1

I see that SuSE no longer is a big draw for commenting on here at Slashdot. Maybe it's time to put Novell stories to rest, they killed themselves and nobody cares.

  14. Lies on Michael Moore's New Film Leaked To BitTorrent · · Score: 2, Insightful

My wife just had an MRI, she needed one just to check something in her head to make sure it was ok. Not a critical procedure. She was put the bottom of the waiting list. It took 1 month to have the MRI done. You know who gets put in front of the line? The people that need it most. Anybody that goes to america for treatment is most likely just a paranoid hypochondriac. People will REAL serious problems get treated first in Canada.

  15. Us poor geeks don't have this problem on How Long Could You Live Without Your Gadgets? · · Score: 1
Maybe us poor geeks are lucky in that we can't afford all these fancy gadgets. Sure, we have computers and perhaps a cellphone... but can only dream about laptops, pdas, etc...

Actually, we are not lucky... NEED GADGETS!

  16. The customer is always wrong on PC Call Centers Garner Lowest Satisfaction Score · · Score: 1

Here is the difference between computer tech support and banking, cell phone service, cable and satellite television, and insurance support. When people are dealing with their computers, they suddenly become imbeciles. It's like some sort of magic curse that is placed upon them. Tech support is extremely nerve grating... because the customers are idiots. I did phone tech support for an ISP for a year... worst job I ever had. And I was the one that repeat call-ins requested because I was the nicest to them.

I dumped religion a while back but I really like your answer and think it is absolutely correct! Christianity isn't to blame, it's the attitude that rich capitalist western christians seem to have adopted over the last number of decades. Anti-environmentalism is basically just ignorance. Anybody that honestly explores the issues will want to become more environmentally responsible. I've read that a number of christian churches are even preaching environmentalism these days. It will take some time but the current tide of deniers will slowly fade.
