you mean those same evil corporations who also have a wide-open wireless LAN running? oh.. sure.. take over the local's wireless, and they'll just take over yours...
as the guy stated.. he's a chemist. and about 80% of all chemists are pyromaniacs. hell.. I should know, I used to be one (a chemist that is.. I'll always be a pyromaniac..:)
hrm, one of the first things that came to mind was the RBL (Realtime Blackhole List), which (IIRC) can update firewall rules or sendmail rules.. (nope, cant look it up, but if someone knows more or better, be my guest)
well, this case just cracked it for me. I'll not be going to the US. why? Because I don't feel safe. I'm a programmer, and I've done my share of heinous crimes: I'm smoking pot, I've been drinking since before I was 21, did some DeCSS mirroring, made copies of CDs. Oh, I drew extremely violent pictures when I was n school too involving ropes, knives, guns, bullets and strange apparati (andsometimes a teacher or two..). I feel I could be arrested for breaking any number of american laws the moment I step from the plane. OK, maybe I'm paranoid.. but think about it, I may not be the only one...
actually, a square wave will work, because it's a constant voltage, which is decidedly bad for most types (anything with a cone..) of speakers. I'm not sure about exotic stuff like plasma speakers.. but for your avg. cone-driver, the waveform will matter (as long as it's square..:)
in theory, they can if the dynamics of the CD are high enough. This can cause problems on low power amps with fairly heavy speakers attached. Basically, you're putting direct current on your speakers if your amp can't handle the strain. This is known as Clipping. This however has nothing to do with copy-protection.
axes don't need to be very sharp to be used as a weapon, especially on lightly armoured targets. ok, it's a blunt axe. basically, if you're gonna hit someone on the head with a stick with a lump of copper attached, you may well bash his brains out. also, There have been instances of weapons that used weak metals on purpose: the roman footman's spear was usually thrown at the enemy, where they got stuck in their shield. the spearhead would bend, making it not only difficult to remove from the shield, it would also make it rather inaccurate when thrown back..
well.. if you're doing the minimalistic thing with 1 graphic for your company name, a single textbox and 1 submit button, you're bound to look like google..
>Solar Sails would never be able to push the craft faster than light so it's doubtful that the technology could take humans to other solar systems and back like we drive to the corner store.
True.. then again, you won't make it to lightspeed with any known technique. Now if we could just control mass (say.. reduce it to 0), you'd be at lightspeed in no time:)
I was at HAL2001, where he said he didnt publish because of personal and professional reasons. //rdj

>How come the best thing you can think of for something like this is stupid little web cam sites?
because I've had a cartoon hanging over my desk for over a year about a swallowed webcam, and a domain 'dogstomach.com'...
