Silly Germans! If he had used that knowledge and effort at something constructive instead of destructive, I'm sure he could have gone quite far. On the other hand, he's got a reputation now, which would have been more complicated to build had he taken the non malicious route. No such thing as bad publicity, or so they say.
I call bullshit.
From Mirriam Webster:
"One entry found for irregardless.
Main Entry: irregardless
Pronunciation: "ir-i-'gärd-l&s
Function: adverb
Etymology: probably blend of irrespective and regardless
nonstandard : REGARDLESS
usage Irregardless originated in dialectal American speech in the early 20th century. Its fairly widespread use in speech called it to the attention of usage commentators as early as 1927. The most frequently repeated remark about it is that "there is no such word." There is such a word, however. It is still used primarily in speech, although it can be found from time to time in edited prose. Its reputation has not risen over the years, and it is still a long way from general acceptance. Use regardless instead."

From Dictionary.com:
irregardless PPronunciation Key(r-gärdls)
adv. Nonstandard
Regardless.
[Probably blend of irrespective, and regardless.]
Usage Note: Irregardless is a word that many mistakenly believe to be correct usage in formal style, when in fact it is used chiefly in nonstandard speech or casual writing. Coined in the United States in the early 20th century, it has met with a blizzard of condemnation for being an improper yoking of irrespective and regardless and for the logical absurdity of combining the negative ir- prefix and -less suffix in a single term. Although one might reasonably argue that it is no different from words with redundant affixes like debone and unravel, it has been considered a blunder for decades and will probably continue to be so.

You may not like the way it's used, but both of them list is at a word.
No, anyone can use spymac. There are no restrictions on your OS, after all it is web-based.
I've found it a bit slow, and have had some issues with mail not appearing or not being delivered, but they are still working out some of the kinks. It's a great service for being free. They aren't using targetted advertising, just your typical banner ads.
I doubt it. Google is what it is because of their technology, their attitude, and most of all their people. They have their own personality, and that is what makes them great.
Sure, companies sometimes have to get a bit more corporate as they mature, but that shouldn't mean they have to take away some of those "pieces of flair".
If Google becomes just another corporate behemoth, do you think we'll still back them up and give them the benefit of the doubt?
Right, but it's far too easy once you hop online to click that slashdot or lj bookmark, or see if there's a torrent for the most recent episode of $favorite_tv_show.
I don't usually bring my laptop into class, as I find it too distracting, as the submitter of the story mentioned. I found that trying to write notes and any of my own key words to accompany the information were crucial to triggering memories when it came time to remember the information later on.
The few times I brought in my laptop, I always ended up doing something else and felt I'd missed some important piece of information during the lecture.
Unfortunately I type faster than I can write, so I guess there's a tradeoff.
I can't decide whether it's funny or scary that the first result is a story about Bezos and Steve Jobs meeting. Did they see eachother naked? Did Bezos get a Steve Job ?
It really depends on what the meaning of is is.
Does popularity mean that it is the most used, or the most liked? I would think that popularity and usage are a different metrics.
Agreed. One would think that a nature lover would be against products that needlessly cut down trees, wouldn't one? I think this is more the sort of thing that a nature hater would enjoy.
Well, if you can start mozilla faster and render pages faster, there's a chance you just might finish reading slashdot before your boss sees you browsing the web on his or her time.
Well, in the case of the iPod mini, the hard drive retails for $500 whereas the iPod mini is half of that. I know of a few digital camera junkies that are considering buying the iPod just for the hard drive.
There is more to it than that. I know a few folks who are big into digital photography and are considering buying the iPod mini strictly to remove the hard drive, which retails for $499.
