Actually the way the BMI scale works, being underweight on it, isn't necessarily as bad a thing as being overweight. The _vast_ majority of people who live an extremely long life (exceeding 90 years) are generally very thin people.
Could you elaborate further on WHY they don't work? I'm not seeing much explanation here.
I mean they cost X to produce, they are likely to generate Y electricity over the course of their lifetime. Perhaps small time individual household installs are stupid / not cost effective? (Are you Aussie by any chance... our Govt....oh boy)
That being said, exceedingly large scale installations, one would (surely!?) assume that a solar park, once established correctly, is capable of at least paying more than the cost of itself off, right? Ideally more than that too.
I never claimed it was a rational dislike, but people with hyphenated names come across as complete twats. Sorry. I think you'll find it's not an uncommon opinion either.
Can't help it! Not rational! Just they are awful, pretentious people, sorry.
As someone who did account renames for a couple of years, I don't think this guy was joking. Hyphenated names are the worst, just comes off as some pretentious bullshit from someone who thinks they are hanging on to some heritage prestigious names. That shit is long gone, that era is gone, the people who had hyphenated names, 80 to 200 years ago? They probably came from a very wealthy family and were holding on to some kind of name that's been around for 1000 years, but nowadays? I can't help but feel it's some uppity girl who's still gonna be living in the suburbs driving an SUV to soccer practice in 10 years anyhow.
I used it for a year to chat with a friend who used it almost exclusively. The amount of insane bugs in that application is off the dial and oddly enough they seem to get patched then unpatched endlessly.
Biggest one is the classic "black screen" bug. Unlock your phone, pull down notifications "you have 5 snaps from blah" Tap that, opens the app and it goes to your chat with blah. But then the screen instantly goes black, no reason. You can't read your messages - but they are already marked as read and of course, fucking disappear.
Then there's the one where you're typing to your pal while they are away, they open the app and the program goes into 'direct' mode (icon turns blue, you can live chat, ala facetime, if you like) except the screen goes black and switches into camera mode as if you'd done this. You're not broadcasting or sending, they didn't initiate a video chat, the program just puts you into some photo mode, randomly. Again - lost chats.
There's also an awful flash camera bug on Samsung phones it's been there for a year, fixed? Nope......
I sent a suggestion / request in to them about having REAL friends on there, not just sexting bullshit, so you can 'reverse' snapchat them - and ALL messages actually get retained, but with the OPTION of insta-deleting stuff - best of both worlds, your girl or boy wants to show you their junk but on a 3 second timer, sure! but if they wanna send you directions or an important message "we need to talk, I'm pregnant" - those messages don't disappear. I wouldn't mind the disappearing messages if the program didn't god damn lose the asshole things. It caused me multiple arguments with someone over the course of a year. I filed bugs, I sent feedback - seriously the program is atrociously coded - on ios and android. It's, well as I said - dogshit
I switched to whatsapp as an IP based chatter and it works great - only feature it's missing is the ability to auto-nuke images same as snapchat - if they add that functionality, it's got everything snapchat does and MUCH more.
Fuck snapchat, a lot - best thing I did uninstalling that daily frustration of an app.
I disagree with you that prices went up (and yet, I agree with you entirely - bear with me...)
In the 50's to the early 80's your common toaster, microwave, wash machine, television - etc, the delta between the cheap nasty version of these items and the high end nice quality version wasn't too much. The shit one was say $Y and maybe the nice one was $Y * 1.75 at most say?
Now it seems all those items and more are VASTLY cheaper but the quality has indeed dropped. However the really nice quality item has infact gone up in cost, quite significantly. If you have 'good taste' or like something which might last or is built well, be prepared to pay for it, significantly.
Our money has lost significant buying power, thanks to inflation too, so our goods are getting nastier and nastier to make us think they are alright, and the high end things are getting even more expensive.
He's addressing a genuine, serious issue in the US, regardless of some of the dumb shit he says or how he presents himself, the raging loony SJW types can point fingers at racism this, sexism that (heck they might be right) they need to acknowledge that serious issues like this exist.
Bernie is similar (despite being entirely different) in that he doesn't seem to mince words and he seems to be on point on key important issues to the common man, not bullshit fluff which sounds important but is meaningless drivel.
I still have a bit of schadenfreude though for a Trump win, just for the total comedy of it all, the regressive left will lose their fucking minds. (However a shame ultimately as I do lean more left than right) All that being said, my opinion is dog shit useless on this, I'm just a foreigner who just picks up things here and there thanks to the US-centric internet. I just want Turnbull to fuck off with his negative gearing housing bubble bullshit (this won't mean much, to most of you)
Back on topic, H1B is a legit complaint from what I've read online, they fucking force you guys to train your replacements, then fly the bastards in for 60/90/180 (??) days at a time and it still works out cheaper. It's fucking disgusting. Globalisation has been good and AWFUL for the middle class and lower, y'all (me included) getting royally ass fucked (but hey, at least toasters are now $11 a pop instead of $41!!! yay?)
I'm an Android guy and I completely disagree with you. I'll use it on my phone for sure but I think the tablet experience is awful. Exceedingly few have very good hardware, even less good build quality. The features are lacking.
an ipad is a very good tablet experience, very good. I'm glad I got one, I won't endure Android tablets, they just don't cut it.
This is a RUMOR that I do not have concrete information on. However,...
I've read at least twice, that the perps deliberately physically destroyed their personal phones. The phone in question is a business phone. The likelyhood of anything being on this phone is very very slim. Simply by the fact they had the sense to kill the other phone, it implies this one is super likely to be empty.
May not be the actual case and could be untrue, but if it is, all this is likely to be for nothing.
It offers much the same device as most other tablets and it's certainly not only relevant for a year, an ipad 3 is still a perfectly competent machine, release date : 2012
These "death of the ipad" articles are bloody loopy. Sales are dropping, but that CERTAINLY doesn't mean it's not an incredibly popular device.
Here's some hypothetical reasons I think sales could be dropping. Android tablets starting to genuinely compete. Some business sales going to the Surface, since it transcends that whole, Windows laptop / tablet world but the number 1 reason I suspect sales are dropping,... so many god damned people own an ipad now and anything above an ipad3 is a perfectly suitable little device for checking mail, facebook, netflix, photo viewing. People are not feeling the bug to upgrade.
Will they still upgrade? Damn straight. Will it be as often? No. Personally, considering how many god damn ipads are out there, I think a 25% drop in sales is not the end of the world. The ipad has replaced many a desktop, now it too has reached a 'good enough' level of performance (like the desktop) so sales will taper to a more natural replacement and upgrade cycle.
Yep, officially one of the worst rumours I've heard in a long time. I recently gave up PC gaming for good. Too old, too poor, not enough time. I love just plug, play on my consoles. I can deal with 30fps vs 60 or 90, I don't mind the sub 1080p games, they normally squeeze out pretty nice graphics for a $400 box.
The thought of the consoles take a PC-esque route is frankly, gross to me. Awful idea.
Who's the smartass that moderated this funny? It's very on point and I take it as him being quite serious. It resonates with me and I'm not even fucking 40 yet.
Sounds good to me, personally I'd consider reading the PM's - see just how the collusion is going on entirely. (Do they make it known that they know each other?)
I watched some of the initial drone racing promotional videos and thought cool but kind of ignored them. Since that time there's been many more videos come out and I'm beginning to get the idea as a video game player that these things can really be appreciated by the kinda 10->50y/o crowd who grew up with gaming.
With the FPV goggles the guys have for them, the performance of the things and the complexity of some of the 'tracks' they do actually seem kind of great. I wonder if these things could be this generations F1 at some point?
I imagine people who actually paid for a legitimate full copy are getting the ads as well. I don't know for certain but do they even distinguish the 2 (once initial activation is complete?)
I continue to be satisfied with Windows 7, until they try to damage it somehow.
You may be correct? but the general indication from multiple articles appears to be his SAVINGS were done over, due to a bail in, not some kind of other investment.
Actually the way the BMI scale works, being underweight on it, isn't necessarily as bad a thing as being overweight.

Not everyone eats at McDonalds.

I can confirm several domain attached machines in my very small setup have at least had the files locally downloaded - no nagware (yet)

The question is, where's the smart money? What do we short? there must be something smart to do right now, everyone knows it's bursting.
Interesting moderation on this post, curious who is having a whinge and why.
