I adore Crysis but it has some serious scaling issues and the problem isn't the CPU.
Once you start throwing high end gear at it, like SLI, Tripple SLI, Crossfire, Crossfire X2's or even quad SLI it just scales like crap.
    1 GPU = 45fps in X detail
    2 GPU = 60fps in X detail
    3 GPU = 65fps in X detail
    1000 GPU = 85fps in X detail.

    (you get the idea)
It's a bit of a shame, however if you are willing to forgo AA and play in say 1680x1050 you can do that actually fairly cheeply now and it looks lovely.

Left for Dead does look good but with the US$ gaining ground against other currencies (laughably, it won't last) the 45$ US now equates to about 70$ Australian for me.
I was going to blindly pick it up mind you, without hesitation, without a demo, just to simply impulse purchase it but when I saw 45$ I was very very disapointed.

Their loss, not mine, I've got a tonne of other games to play, so rather than make any money from me they just made none.

Ubuntu, XP, Vista - they all seem so slow to boot, 95 is probably fast on todays hardware but that's a 10+ year old OS.
    Are multiple cores used?
Why is it that my XP splash screen, the disk seems to go idle while it's fading in? Can a computer not do more than 1 thing at a time?

Rudd studied at the Australian National University in Canberra where he resided at Burgmann College and graduated with First Class Honours in Arts (Asian Studies). He majored in Chinese language and Chinese history, became proficient in Mandarin and acquired a Chinese alias, Lù Kèwén (traditional Chinese: or in simplified Chinese: ).[6] Like most Chinese names given to westerners, Rudd's Chinese surname (Lù ) is partially based on the phonetics of his actual surname, Rudd (both possessing the vowel 'U' and the similar sounding alveolar lateral flap initial 'R/L') as well as being an actual Chinese name. Similarly, despite his Chinese given name (Kèwén ) closely resembling the official Chinese language transliteration of 'Kevin' (Kiwén ), it is also a Chinese name in its own right.[7][8] Rudd's thesis on Chinese democracy activist Wei Jingsheng[9] was supervised by Pierre Ryckmans, the eminent Belgian-Australian Sinologist.[10] During his studies Rudd cleaned the house of political commentator Laurie Oakes to earn money.[11] In 1980 he continued his Chinese studies at the National Taiwan Normal University in Taipei, Taiwan.[12] Delivering the annual Gough Whitlam Lecture at Sydney University on "The Reforming Centre of Australian Politics" in 2008, Rudd praised the former Labor Prime Minister for implementing educational reforms, saying he was: ... a kid who lived Gough Whitlam's dream that every child should have a desk with a lamp on it where he or she could study. A kid whose mum told him after the 1972 election that it might just now be possible for the likes of him to go to university. A kid from the country of no particular means and of no political pedigree who could therefore dream that one day he could make a contribution to our national political life.[13]

Free to air television is for the dogs! It's over for my generation and even some of the generation above me (I'm 30)
I can no longer even contemplate the concept of actually scheduling my life around watching a TV show at X O'clock.
Even recording from the TV, over here shows have many things done to them, such as
Inserting up to 20 minutes of ads per hour
Using that 'loudness' technology on the ads
CUTTING PARTS OF THE ACTUAL SHOW OUT to fit in more ads (no, not joking)
Airing the shows 3 / 6/ 9 months after they air in the states.
Showing the shows out of order...............!

    The list goes on.
It might be taboo but a hell of a lot of people grab their shows this way, it's the only way to get them as far as I'm concerned.
Also while I'm at it, what about porn? What if the govt decide porn is illegal? I'm a youngblooded male, I want to hunt for porn on the net, there is free 'legal' porn out there, what's to say they don't block redtube or cheggit or whatever the trendy sites are now?

What about when the filter makes a mistake? What about when slashdot is classed as illegal?
The list goes on and on, it's bloody crazy.
I'm very disapointed in Labour with this, I'm not a huge Liberal fan (no, I don't vote, sue me) so I can't say I voted for them to win, nor can I say I voted this policy in but it's quite frustrating and stupid.

The real issue is, at this point according to the whirlpool thread http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=967413 it does actually seem to be getting some momentum.
I really find the internet bloody slow enough as it is in this country, most of us have DSL over cable, so that's 60ms instantly, then we're mostly hitting US sites so that's a total of about 180ms in the very best cases - when you're doing your general browsing, this really adds up.

I will have no hesitation in circumventing the law and using some kind of VPN, Proxy, Tor or whatever else will get me past this stupid thing, the frustration is having to do so in the first place.

I started in this industry 12 years ago at 18 years old, as a complete and utter geek who loved computers, hardware, tinkering and so on.
I won't deny for a second I'm a lazy, young slob who isn't aiming to climb the ladder but as time has gone on, I have found I think I know LESS about computers now than I used to.
This industry will often turn your hobby into a nightmare, I find I go home and all I want is my PC's to work, not to have to fiddle with the damned things.

As for your point, I've continued to slowly climb up, perhaps not in position title but from job to job I've gotten fairly good raises quite easily and it all comes down to interview skills and selling yourself, a half decent vocabulary, being polite, logical and wise (not just knowing stuff but genuinely not being a dumbass in the interview)

I still work in support, 12 years on but much better than phone support jobs for a better rate, I'm happy with what I do and I've decided I'm going to spend wisely and invest rather than become a corporate clown climing the ladder.

I will also say I have very little confidence, yet bluffing my way into a job has been fairly easy, just say the right thing, don't flat out lie, infact I've even told them answers they don't want to hear, if I don't know something I don't say this for example
"GEE WIZZ SIR, I'M A HARD LEARNER AND I'LL FIGURE IT OUT QUICK"
nor do I say, with hesitation and uncertainty
"Sure,... yeah I've dabbled with that, I know it yep, not a problem" (clearly lying)

I would actually answer with this.
"Well look, I'd rather be honest with you, sadly I've never used product X but as far as I know it's mail/database/internet/web package and I do have experience with product Y, I'd be confident in saying I have very good fundamentals in IT and an analytical mind, I'm quite confident I can figure it out quite quickly without a problem, the majority of these mail/database/internet/web packages all follow the same kind of logic, also happy to do some research too if you like"

That's just one example but it's a straightforward answer like that where you're honest but confident you can do something because you're NOT a dipshit and bingo, you've got a job.
For reference, I've got over 75% of the jobs I've interviewed for and I'm in no way an extrovert social party guy who everyone loves.

    Hope this helps.

You have to ask yourself, what do you want the game, do you want it easier, harder, longer, shorter, do you want to play it effectively forever or do you want a linear single player experience.
Do you like the actual gameplay itself or would you prefer it to actually play differently, etc?

Not releasing the mod tools initially for Fallout 3 will result in almost no loss of sales at all, infact the quicker they get it out the better, due to the US Christmas rush on games where from October to Jan they pump out game upon game upon game and not just crappy ones, avoiding being dead in the middle of this, is a smart thing.
