Perhaps it's because I'm too young to have seen the original movies in theater, but I *like* the newer versions. They have a couple of extra scenes, and they look better. More, better looking Star wars can't be a bad thing? I also think they make some scenes feel more alive, with more people in the background and so on.
There, now you can go ahead and mod me down.
If that's the reason then it shouldn't matter what program is started. This sounds like a 'feature' in sound recorder. I guess it stores some settings and stuff in the registry. For instance, if you double-clicked a sound file that made the sound recorder open, the recently used file list has to be updated (if sound recorder has such a list, I'm too lazy to check).
I guess Apple is sick of them coming up with cool new ideas/designs, just to be ripped off by a bunch of cheap-ass PC manufacturers...
On the other hand, I'm sure several case-modders has done something similar to this before, unless I've gotten it all wrong.
The ISP I contacted took it pretty seriously, I think. I sent a couple of mails back and forth with the abuse-staff, and got a very good impression from them.
When I had this problem I simply sent a mail to the ISP:s abuse-people. Most ISP has an e-mail address like abuse@theisp.com. Then they can send the guy a warning or whatever.
Remember, the vast masses of websurfers are not übergeeks, but regular people. They probably don't know there are options to IE. Even if they know about the "alternative" browsers, I'm pretty sure they don't see any reason to switch. They probably don't even know *how* to switch. Until Windows doesn't come with IE any more (won't happen) or Windows stops being the #1 OS (duh) IE will always be the most wide-spread browser. Nobody can compete with that.
A few years ago a classmate dropped his TI-82 about three floors through the hole in the middle of a spiral staircase. The poor calculator landed on a marble floor and the front and back panels got separated. He just popped them back in place, and the thing worked as if nothing had happened. I'm quite amazed the display didn't break.
I think this shut-down behaviour is some kind of fault protection in the PSU. While messing around with the cooling in my box I plugged in a fan to a molex connector, and that made the computer shut down. Everything worked fine when I turned it back on though.
Most storage medias will be obsolete within a not too distant future. Paper lasts much longer. Also, you don't need any technical equipment to read the paper version.
Heck, the cable from my iMac to my stereo is only like three meters, and I want to replace it with an AirPort Express! Less cables looks better and makes cleaning easier.

The interface was more expensive than I expected, but the head units were cheaper than I expected. I thought this would only work with the top-of-the-notch models.
I don't know how much sense it would make to put one of these solutions in my cheap-ass car, but I really like the idea. Yumm! All my music, in the car too!
I like that you can buy internal add-on hardware. I also like the thumb-idea. Any Revo user can tell you that this is a really fast way of typing. On the other hand, the Revo had a real keyboard...
Yes, or we can stop bashing people trying to make technical processes understandable to Joe Schmoe...

Or to simplify things, just send a bunch of cockroaches. Hrm.

How about we have a race to see how many people make the same joke in the first 100 posts!!

You obviously haven't tried it...
I will probably get moderated back to the stoneage, but in what way do you concider Windows to be inferior to Linux, except the price?
I can't stand the Fire logo/icon. Yuck! If I'm gonna switch from ICQ to Fire I HAVE to find another icon!
There is NOTHING funny about my points.

Uh, dude, it's not *if* he won't be there, it's *when*.
It's more than that! It's a sign!! The end of the world is coming!!!
So if I want to listen to samples of wet dog shit, this is the player for me? Hm! Interesting!

For the lazy ones...
Clickable.
Tried it (not over my foot though), and the hammer didn't rotate at all. Well, of course it didn't, there's no reason for it to do so.

Come ON! You can't say something like that on Slashdot and expect to get away with it! All objects fall with the same speed, not matter their mass.
