It wouldn't need two camera angles for quake. Quake is already true 3d. It just becomes 2d when it hits your monitor, because we don't have a good 3d display device.
Sorry bud, I may be showing my age (young not old) but I think the best rock stations don't play enough Bush and Green day. All i get now is Limpbizcit, Korn, Everlast and all that other funk metal shit. When will people learn that Funk=Good, Metal=Good, Funk Metal=Bad.
Whatever happened to the Alternative\Grunge movement that saved us from the 80's cock rock? Oh yeah they all died.
See this is why I read Slashdot. You always get to hear from someone who knows way too much about an inane subject. Granted this time the info isn't really usefull at all, but sometimes it is, no matter what the slashdot editors do we'll still get this terminally cool stuff.
Thats what this is. I was thinking of going to the U of A. But with this going down I doubt it. Republican's are getting so bad these days I'm saddened to call myself one. I remember when republicans used to run their campaigns on the simple fact that democrats always screw up the economy, now they're just getting all uber-moral. Even Steve Forbes the guy I thought was a great money man is running on moral issues now. If the democrats knew anything about how to manage money, I'd be voting for them. Guess this is JAEoFUAP (Just Another Example of Fucked Up American Politics).
I'm going to do a write-in vote for Cthulu, why settle for the lesser evil.
>Do you know something about this book/movie that >the rest of us don't?
Well, I don't know about him but I think I do. It's not about two geeks meeting over the internet. It's about two geeks that lived in the small town in Idaho that picked up moved to Chicago and got good jobs. There was a plot synopsis posted somewhere.
Acutally, the way I heard it was that colour was the proper english spelling in the begining. But whatever latin word it was based off of didn't have the U, which was apparently in the word due to french influence. So when webster put out his dictionary he left it out. So the English and the Americans are both right, just in different ways.
Nope, WotC was bought by Hasbro. WotC is just the North American distributor for Pokemon cards, they didn't create the game or the cards all they do is translate(maybe not even that). Nintendo is the company that has all of the Pokemon trademarks, etc.
Why does everyone think this is so strange. We all thought it was just hilarious when Jay & Silent Bob put the smack down on the Easter Bunny's bitch ass, but now that it's Santa it's SO wrong. This just goes to prove what people want presents, not eggs.
DOWN WITH HOLIDAY MASCOTS!!!!!! They will be the first against the wall in the revolution!
What if we had a license that stated that someone could build a commercial fork off of an open source product, only if they sent their code changes to the original author of the product. The original author could then choose to add what he liked to his own product or not, credit would be given to the proprietary company for the code changes and life would go on.
I don't know if this would actually fix things, but in the eyes of marketing ( and thus the average consumer) it might.
I will not flame. I will not flame. I will not flame.
Ok, I'm better now. The company you're speaking of is Handspring. It was founded by Donna Dubinsky and Jeff Hawkins. They've already got the Visor out and it is faster & cheaper.
I agree 100%. I bought a SBLive and the DTT2500 speakers from Cambridge Soundworks. I still can't believe how much I love them. Dolby Digital 5.1 surround on my DVD's and EAX in my games. The difference is astounding.
Anyone else find it amusing that this is a large article about violence in computer games, and the only thing anyone cares about is Wolfenstein 2000 is coming out?
I'll be seeing them at Cedar Lee, I've already e-mailed them to reserve tickets. Tentative dates are Nov 5th for Perfect Blue and Nov 15th for Princess Mononoke.
It's playing in theaters, next week i'm driving from columbus to Cleveland to see Perfect Blue. The week after that I'm going back to see Princess Mononoke.:-)
P.S. Anyone wanna tag along? I got an extra seat in the car.
I ordered a DVD from them next day air, and they said it would ship in 24-48 hours. Two weeks later it gets to my home, unfortunatly i was in San Fransico at the time and Fedex shipped it back. I was fairly pissed, when I e-mailed them about it they said they had to wait until they got it back then they would reship. By this time I was completely pissed that they didn't even offer a refund so i sent them the standard, the least you could do is refund my money, send me another, close the store, and shoot the manager speil. They refunded my money and sent another free of charge.
Hollywood stereotypes everything and everybody in a way that fits into the public imagination. For instance, have you ever seen a Middle Eastern man in a movie who was not a terrorist?
Yep, Short Circuit 1 & 2. It's an altogether different stereotype though.
If you look back on the California gold rush (startling how it parallels the current rush to get in on internet stocks in some ways), you'll find that it did indeed make many people very rich. However, the vast majority of these were not prospectors (most of these finished with nothing); they were the people who provided goods and services to the prospectors. Perhaps a lesson for the (near) future there?
Does this mean we should invest in Ebay, and Ameritrade. Or does that defeat the point, my brain hurts.:-)
I don't know much about chip design, I'm but a lowly DBA, but would it be possible to put two chips on a motherboard? One to handle x86 code and the new 64 bit chip to handle the new code. With the prices of a Celeron or K6-2 being what they are it wouldn't be too much more expensive, and could eventually be phased out. Is this possible?

Actually I believe the correct phrase is "ecky ecky ecky pitang, zoompow, uwozan. Spelling understandably may be wrong.
So why haven't the winners of the beanie awards been posted yet? I thought they were given out last night.

Was that the MPAA I saw on the list of people opposing this? Seems kinda wierd that such a domineering company would be against such a thing.

I know the tagline isn't proper latin.
I'm guessing it's an honest mistake but...
I sure hope we're not trying to shoot down bombers with nukes.

I'd like to see glow-in-the-dark shrubs along your driveway (so you can see at night).
At least you'd know if anyone was hiding in the bushes.
