Nintendo of Japan is already officially dropping support for the Play Yan on Sept 11th. It's going to be replaced with the Play-yan Micro, a unit specially designed for the upcoming Game Boy Micro. The new unit seems almost identical to the old one. Which one will America get?
...a Lifetime subscription to Dark Age of Camelot
Who's life? Mine or the game's?
With Everquest 2 and World of Warcraft available, Camelot is already dead.
Is October 26th the PS2 anniversary in America or Japan? The price listed in dollars suggest this new PStwo will come out in America. So far there's no news of it in Japan. Perhaps the Tokyo Game Show next week will reveal what's going on.
Don't forget there was a NES game based on McDonalds released in America. It was called M.C. Kids (McKids) and featured lots of references to the fast food chain. I heard it wasn't that bad of a game actually.
I was expecting Mother 1+2 for GBA to at least show up on a release list. Looks like it's gonna be a Japan only title.
I was also looking forward to Giftpia and Nintendo Puzzle Collection for GC. Both have been available in Japan for a while now so it's disappointing to see no mention of either of them.
Nintendo has recently implemened a loyalty system called Club Nintendo where you earn points for every NEW game that you purchase. Inside the game is a slip of paper with a code on it that you enter in the web site to earn points for your purchase. The points can then be spent on various Nintendo collectable goods. A used game would be unlikely to include this code thus I have always been persuaded to buy the new game instead.
The $15 profit that is gained by EB games or Gamespot isn't sucked out of the economy either. Companies don't just gobble up money. It returns back as investment or is given to shareholders as dividends. Granted it's generally not in gamer hands anymore unless you consider the gamer's paychecks that it's providing.
The driver's license cards are pretty cool. I got one at the E3 this year and I was very surprised to see that the machine actually prints your name and other stats on each card. This is in addition to stats being stored on a magnetic strip on the reverse side.
I'm thinking that you won't be allowed to upload data from a Gamecube memory card. Uploads are only from the driver's license card. Once your stats are loaded from the license, you can then download your profile on to a GC card.
As if there wasn't enough marketing, I remember getting a special mini issue of Nintendo Power when I saw the movie in the theatre. I believe it was called Nintendo Power Source. That little bonus was more rewarding than the film itself.
Streaming versions of licensed radio stations are plenty good enough for me. I doubt I'll miss the Christmas Jazz station at live365 all that much.
The time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time. Bertrand Russell (1872 - 1970)
When you travel abroad, try the BBC for news. It's a good, international, non-commercially funded, English speaking news source.
Maybe if the series followed Mario and added baby versions of every character, it would work again.
If you haven't been able to find a quality PS2 game in 6 years, you don't really need a PS2.

E3 should use the same plan that the Tokyo Game Show does. Day 1: media only. Days 2 and 3: open to the public.
yeah but all your calls are now free! now just everyone you want to talk to needs to have a DS and you'll save a fortune on cell phone charges.
Almost all arcade games in Japan are 100 yen. That's nearly $1 a pop yet you don't see the arcade business dying here.

My credit card was also rejected because I'm living in Japan. Why can't they just accept paypal payments?
You can watch some streaming episodes of the Super Mario Bros Super Show as well as Zelda here.

There's already a pool playing robot named Deep Green.

Appropriate for the game? Sure.
Appreciated? Not at all.
Too bad Sony ruined the first Wipeout by replacing all the euro techno with Sony garage bands.

Europe got a special version of Metroid Prime and Zone of the Enders 2 is getting bonus features for the European market.
It's as simple as this. If you like a game, buy it. Support the products you enjoy and more will follow.
