This is great news. That means less drivers will hit ME on the road. Seriously, who cares if people can't drive, I don't think people ever really learn how to drive. So what if these technologies give bad drivers a better chance of not hitting anyone on their way to work.
From my experience, (i just got out of 4 years of college mind you) video games based on movies are terrible. If you've seen the movie, you know whats going to happen in the video game, and they always manage to do it in some cheezy way involving clips from the film that you already saw. They hardly ever stray from the movie plot, so plotwise, the game is already old and dull the second you rent/buy it. Another problem is that they always seem to have less than par graphics and gameplay, probably because the developers were rushed to release the title in time for the movie. You can really tell this when you play a title like Prince of Persia, or Metal Gear solid, Metroid, Zelda, etc.. vs the spiderman game, or even lord of the rings. I mean, how fun is it to play as Frodo!!!! Seriously. All those other games have fresh new plots, great gameplay, and awesome graphics, while the movie games are just sub-par in all those categories.
Enter the matrix on the other hand, was a brilliant video game. First of all, they hyped it up like another movie. And if you played it, it almost was. They basically told another story that tied so well into that trilogy, but used new and fresh plots, and even scenes by the matrix actors just for the video game. If more movie games were more like movie-additions, they'd be more successful, and even better yet, more fun to play

I'll say. The other day, I was playing Unreal Tournament 2004, and an badly timed "emerge sync" went off from my crontab. Now, its not to say I didn't notice it, but Ut2004 was still playable the whole way through the slow painful python process. It was kernel-2.6.5.
Why couldn't video gaming be considered a sport? Training to be the best at a video game, or win a competition, could easily take as many hours as a player puts in to win a sporting event. Now I'm not comparing the physical aspects of the training, just the time itself invested. The fact is, if it'll bring in crowds, and more importantly the almighty dollar, companies are gonna start marketing these events as sporting events, no matter what you call them. Just look at Poker. A few years ago I don't remember seeing anything about poker in the media. Its gotten so famous, ESPN, ESPN2, the Travel Channel, and i'm sure plenty more television shows play "Texas Hold'em" at least once a day, including a celebrity poker show on Bravo. Now, playing poker may not be a sport, but they sure market it like a sporting event. I mean, the biggest event in poker is called the "World Series of Poker". The fact is, poker is exciting to watch, it brings in spectators, and even more importantly it brings in television and Advertising. If they can get video gaming to somehow become exciting to watch, it'll eventually generate revenue like other sporting events. I really wouldn't be surprised if in 20 years, there were famous "Gamers" giving out autographs at the malls. I can even see FPS games named after the good players, kinda like sports games are named now.
Its like real soccer. You run up and down the field with little scoring. And instead of killing-spree's you can go on "Passing Sprees". You can kill the other team members if they are inside your goal area, or if they have the ball. Everyone has the same weapon, its like a hammer weapon for killing that also passes/shoots your ball. It was kinda fun, no one was playing on the servers, but their beta release for ut2004 lasted at least a whole game in single player. About 30 minutes. I just couldn't get over the announcer saying "Passing Spree". But if you like soccer, it could be fun. Levels were also very well designed.
Your problem might be that your not getting exactly NEW parts to begin with. I worked out nintendo for a bit, and their refurbished/re-manufactured/repair models were always pieces and parts from other gamecubes that passed certain tests. You may be getting parts from other defective powerbooks, but the parts have passed the preliminary checks. So, it may not be costing apple all that much to replace your parts, because they just switch out working parts from defective models. Now, I have no idea whatsoever if this is how apple does their replacements, but it could explain why your having so many problems. Your replaced parts are not necessarily new.
I think I'll wait till its $99 probably in a few months. Slashdot told me so. I already have a gamecube and a ps2, and I really only want X-box to run linux as a media player on my tv.
Probably won't happen. I was a freshman for the same thing 4 years ago, and now i'm lucky to find work down at the local grocery store. I suggest you switch to something more lucrative. I really don't blame the students in the article either. Its a shame too.
I don't have a start page. In Konq, it opens up all my tabs from the last time I logged out. So I guess my start page is all the pages I last visited before a logout.
Seriously, this is just a diversion to delay longhorn for even longer, but still make its customers buy another version, to keep up with their "Every 2 years come out with bigger crap so people are forced to upgrade" standard that has done so well for them so far. I wouldn't be surprised if they came out with "WindowsXP Revolutions" 2 years after reloaded, after seeing that matrix spoof that ballmer and gates did at one of their conferences. That would just delay longhorn even longer, untill they can find out what else they can steel and throw in it, to make it "better" than the competition.
This article sucks. Doesn't include many of the bigger distro's out there. Gentoo, Knoppix, Slackware, etc aren't even included. They should just stick with Linux as a whole, and make everyone happy.

Somehow I don't think this solution will work.
we figured this out last year.

Now I can cook my hamster in my ez-bake drive bay. Finally!

Two-fisted what? This is a public forum people.

Using Linux only...look here
How did this make the frontpage?
