It would be pretty hard to argue that I should be completely in the clear.

You know.. this reminds me, I think it was an HK or S&W (i'm not a gun guy) shirt that I saw some guy wearing, I think it had a profile picture of an M16-A1 I think on it and it had the caption of "Revenge has never been so easy" or something like that... The whole thing is a scam. Unless companies allow you to go month by month, you can't switch b/c their service is bad. Seriously, how many people had the opportunity to switch, but would not b/c they would lose their number.

Why exactly do you say that this is a scam? It doesn't seem like one to me, i'm not going to get screwed when I leave my current carrier that i've been with for 6 years for someone else. The only thing that's going to happen to me, is i'll probably get better service... I wish more scams had effects like that.

I'm the guy you're talking about, though, I've had millions of 'opportunities' (more like urges) to switch carriers due to insufficient coverage and piss poor customer support. Sometimes it's good, but often enough it sucks, so I want to switch to someone new. Why did I put up with it you ask? Because 4 years into my service when I started shopping around, I had already given my number to several people and I didn't want to have to either A) Call several people and update my number with them, or B) Say fuck 'em, i'm switching. Now that number portability is available, I'm jumping ship after the hollidays (and after my bankroll recoups from the holidays).

Just as a sidenote... does anyone have any suggestions as far as carriers that you've noticed that have above average coverage? Or customer support? My girlfriend has T-Mobile, and while the coverage isn't always top notch, she will never run out of good things to say about their customer support.. I myself have Verizon at the top of my list as far as potential carriers to switch over to, they seem to have some of the best coverage maps i've seen, and their customer service at their stores seems outstanding... Any opinions?

My parents had one of these when I was a kid, I don't remember much about it, but so far as I can remember their old 745i graymarket BMW had heated door handles.. You'd think that if they're going to be selling cars in a colder climate with no manual mechinism to force the lock open, they could maybe extend this heated doorhandles idea to the locking mechinism? Kind of like the way auto start works.. you hit a button and your car warms up for 10 minutes then shuts off.. Maybe they should add to the 'disarm' on the remote that the locking mechanism has a heater that's switched on for 5 minutes or so and shuts off after the time limit or the car is start.. seems like a simple enough fix to me, why don't these people take this stuff into consideration?

I agree that this line probably is a totally unnecessary addition, but I don't see any evidence that it was put there by the RIAA or MPAA or any other such AA, it doesn't say "The RIAA and MPAA will be able to write you, this does not go for any other copyright holders" so it protects ALL copyright holders equally (even though this isn't even ABOUT copyright, it's about spam, so it's stupid that it's even mentioned IMO)

Then again, I don't see such a message as spam, seeing as how they're not trying to sell me anything or scam me, so it's probably redundant and unnecessary that it's in there anyways.
