    I have worked with many a user that has had problems with the concept of folders (directories). Perhaps those users can grasp this concept easier.

    Using RHN broke our web server. The kernel update it applied rendered the machine unbootale. Granted I should have probably skipped the kernel update, but RHN can 'break' a server.

    I think the question the author is trying to ask is how can we get truthful reviews on a product. Considering what marketers are willing to do, I would not put 'padding' their reivews past them.

    Funny you mention that. Last week I have started an experiment in spam. I created a new email account and gave that address out to one marketer. My plan is to count the emails they give me over a week or two then to 'unsuscibe' and see how many emails I get. I expect some pretty sad results.

    We currently run linux on an Orinoco RG1000/RG1100 for our wireless network. With a little help from NSF mounts, everything works great. BTW IIRC an RG1000 is a 486 with 4MB of RAM.

    The 200mW output can help your speeds out quite a bit. Without good trasmit, TCP/IP will have problems sending its ACK and NACK packets to the access point.

    Correct me if I am wrong here, but are Windows 1.x and Windows 2.x even operating systems? I know Windows 3.x wasn't. The OS for Windows 3.x was DOS.

    Any bets on how much the price of CD's will drop since they won't be abled to be copied? The way I look at it, and I'm certain record execs see it the same way, since piracy will drop, they will sell more units and then they won't have to hike up the price as much.

    Being somewhat of a wireless tech, there is a place we call the 'touch down radius'. It is possible to be right under a tower and not get reception due to not being in the Frenel Zone. I will admit though that I do not know the specs on the antenna they use or what downtilt angle, or anything else along those lines.

    If 40 people are going to do this, wouldn't 4 short-busses be the way to make the divers feel comfortable? If you're going to get on a Greyhound at 30,000ft and fall out of a plain, odds are you rode the short bus.
