    This sort of process is fairly normal in places like Arizona or the far western Sahara, for example. I was pretty excited about seeing it the first time I went to Arizona, only to find out that there isn't much to see except a slightly overcast cover in the sky.

    That's been going on for at least 2 years.. I once emailed the administrative contact about it, more out of curiosity than anything. His response, 20 minutes later, was that it was somehow auto-generated and that there wasn't anything they could really do about it.

    Troll, but I'll play along.

    From the second link, of all places:

    "Exploit 1" affects RealOne Player, RealOne Player v2 for Windows only (all languages), RealPlayer 10 Beta (English only) and RealOne Enterprise Desktop or RealPlayer Enterprise (all versions, standalone and as configured by the RealOne Desktop Manager or RealPlayer Enterprise Manager).

    "Exploit 2" affects RealOne Player, RealOne Player v2 (all language versions, all platforms), and RealOne Enterprise Desktop or RealPlayer Enterprise (all versions, standalone and as configured by the RealOne Desktop Manager or RealPlayer Enterprise Manager).

    "Exploit 3" affects RealOne Player and RealPlayer 8 (all language versions).

    Not to mention the fact that, with so many users all with the same @aol.com, a simple random text generator will hit up more valid accounts than if they were trying it with another, smaller provider. Have you tried setting up an AIM account lately?

    Sorry, but having a commercial agenda does not magically legitimize this practice. Yes, it is legal to make an unsolicited call to try to sell your products, just as it is EQUALLY legal to make an unsolicited call about, well, nothing. Only when an unwanted call is repeatedly made does this behavior fall into the realm of harassment.
    So what if I just want to call them with the intention of inconveniencing them? Does the fact that they unintentionally inconvenience me set us apart? No.

    I don't think it's any of your business what I'm doing with my data and how much of it is going where. I pay for 10 mbit down, and 1 mbit up. When I don't get what I pay for, I get mad. And of course these lines aren't made for sending, otherwise I'd have synchronous streams.

    I have the same provider. The download rate is 10 Mbps (no joke) and upload is normally 1 Mbit.. it's not unusual to upload things at a consistent 125 KBps, until you hit the 35 minute limit, and then it drops down to ~10-15 KBps.
