Precisely. Linear RPGs are incredibly boring to me. All the good nonlinear games (Darklands, Privateer, etc) are old. I have high hopes for TES: Oblivion, even though Morrowind wasn't that great.

That's the most concise explanation of the USA's problems with campaign finance and corruption I've ever seen. Very nice.

It's an extremely serious problem, and one which I'm afraid has no solution. You can limit a candidate's funding all you want, but there will always be "independent" groups that can spend however much they want to say whatever they want. Or if you ban political advertising altogether, then the media will control the nation.

I suppose parliamentary systems where you vote for a party rather than an individual candidate might solve the problem to an extent, but they have their own flaws.

For now, the only option for the non-wealthy is to form a PAC so people with similar goals can buy their own politicians.

This is a ridiculous statement, because there's no reasonable way to evaluate its truth. The FDA delays good drugs, but it also filters out the bad ones. There's no way to differentiate between good and bad without doing sufficient studies. Patients and doctors making "private choices" without enough trials are making uninformed, dangerous choices.

Kurtz is a dick with idiotic opinions, but his comics are decent. PA doesn't really do storylines either, so it's not relevant to criticize PvP for lacking plot.

The bigger distros (SuSE, Mandrake, Red Hat/Fedora) provide their own tools for administration; use them. Otherwise, you're best off doing it manually if you actually want to learn how things work.
