"Chinese authorities closed 12,575 net cafes towards the end of 2004. Due to the expense of computer hardware, net cafés have become very popular in China in recent years."
Expense of computer hardware? Computer hardware has never been cheaper!
Same reason they dont adopt other software when it's new. Stability.
Though it sort of doesnt make sense. I mean how long did it take for them to get KDE3 into the "unstable" branch? Months. And that branch is meant to be as it's name implies, unstable.
Why would MS need to upgrade their browser? They just embed the engine in whatever apps they have that they want to use it and let FF take over as the most popular actual browser. What does MS have to gain by having the most popular browser besides the most attention when there are security flaws?
Actually, there already is a patent for this. It's owned by AT&T. It's how AT&T's smart search technology works... by maintaining a knowledgebase that cross references similar terms so that people who say one thing and mean another can still find what they want.
I know this because my dad is the inventor on the 3 related patents.
So, they cant release thier own code under whatever different licenses they want and they just package the other necessary pieces with it and make the source for like gtk or whatever availible? It doesnt seem to me like they are changing a bunch of other GPL stuff and then "stealing" it. But rather simply not making their source code availible.
What is the point of screenshots of a distro? The screenshots are of X and whatever WM/DE you use. Screenshots of KDE make sense. Those of Slackware dont.
If you needed outlook that bad, why did you buy a machine that doesnt run outlook. And same thing for quicken or money. If you really wanted to make the mac thing work, get a copy of virtual pc or whatever it's called and run that.
Uhh, voting in favor of throwing out legislation to keep patents out of europe is the same as voting in favor of keeping legislation to keep software patents in europe. This is what we dont want, right? Stupid double negatives.
At what point does the Google g prefix start to encroach on the GNU g prefix? I could imagine someone thinking gmail was the gnome/gnu equivalent of kmail.

They must all use Macs or something.

I work for a small company called TAG Online I am sure my boss would work out a fair deal for whatever services it is that you require.
I am running 2.6.10 and I just get a segfault when running this. Anyone else get it to work?

At least he's better than the Doom Marine and can handle both a gun and a flashlight.
I just installed Firefox without any special consideration and I am able to see svg images just fine.
Is this the beginning of the end of "Don't be evil"?
I thought number 1 would be Darl McBride.
Why does the politics section have an american flag and american stuff on it? Politics exist on other countries also, you know.
Uhh, there already is an internet radio thing in iTunes.

I guess I could be wrong though.
This doesnt matter. You can sell GPL'd software if you want. You just need to release all of your changes in source form also.
The forum is slashdotted, but I would think that xchat could release thier program under whatever license they wanted to. Even multiple ones.
If you had a clone, you could just take HIS jaw and then kill him.
Why does everyone hate this design so much? I kind of like it.
Google does more than selling advertising. They sell search technology to companies for internal search sites among other things.

*NB: There's no way I'm calling it XBox2, because MS are never going to have an *2 competing with a *3 (e.g. PS3).
Maybe they will just call it "Xbox 2005" or "Xbox Longhorn"
If North and South switch, does that mean East and West will also?

WOW! An int() function doesnt even have to return anything. That IS magic!
