So the medical supply company will still manage to charge $1500 for those with insurance, and $5000 without. It's all about the certification labels...
what is this market force and where can I apply it?
get real, we have two options for broadband. their policies, service and prices are all in close lockstep. If I could punish them with this 'market force' you speak of I would in a heartbeat, but I would also have no internet access at home. there is no third choice
'let the market decide is akin to saying 'let the companies screw the people, because they're too stupid to realize or do anything about it'
but that's just it - not 'likely' in 2012... in a sprint in late 2012, around say early december 2012 they'll ramp her back up and reach peak power just before xmas... proving the mayans were right....
don't worry, black holes don't hurt. time dilation on the event horizon of a black hole keeps us from actually experiencing it. Of course voyager would be our civilizations only remaining relic...
unfortunately, they had to sign the contract with ATT *before* launch day. quite a bit before they *knew* it was a hit, and before the public had even seen the device. In fact, they were a newcomer hoping for a carrier to allow them to use their device on a network that wasn't even configured to accomodate a device capable of the kind of bandwidth and content-rich applications.
now the tables are turned, unfortunately none of the carrier networks are open networks. this is why we need network neutrality. desperately.
wow. we are all dumber for having listened to you...
that's 4 minutes of my life I'll never get back. Go back to watching NASCAR and do us all a favor....
Quite the opposite. I would say asking the DOD about securing computers really is like asking the 3rd grade hall monitor about school security. Because in truth, they just have to hire someone from the slashdot community to do the real work, or, better yet, their security people are part of the slashdot community. It's important to realize that when you ask the DOD about doing this, you're not talking to a security guru, your getting the management watered version, the ones who make ass-backwards policies like: If changing your password and increasing the length improves security, then we'll make everyone change their password every month and it must be 8-12 characters. Brilliant. You've ensured that the nations secrets are entrusted to little yellow post-its on every computer in the building. Ban post-its you say, they'll just put it below their mousepad/drawer/phone/picture of spouse. I could continue this rant, but you get my point.
How did he refine the ethanol after the still? If he did this back in the day did he just use the 92% ethanol the still produces or did he use zeolite to absorb the 8% water?
I think we got the site back up pretty fast. That's entirely php and MySql requests thank you very much.

Set up this program on as many computers behind a closed network.
Setup a DNS system that points to another machine for a wildcard domain (have it respond to one machine for ALL DNS lookups)setup as a local email server that responds to all domains for all send requests.
Run their program on a massive array of computers, getting paid $1/hour of CPU time to email to a blackhole.
Or, block outbound SMTP requests from all machines you run it on (assuming they don't verify send - which they probably do) and run it on as many machines.
Anyways, the best way to fight this is to sabotoge it. (And get paid for it at the same time.)
Bad power? Dirty power? Explain that one please. I love it when the clueless try to explain things.
The only clueless person is the one who wrote this. US power is 110 V+_ @ 60Hz. Power lines are notorious receptactles of interference (lightning is an extreme example) it causes spikes that are very effective at damaging electronic equipment. This * does* occur, does it happen as much as monster would like you to believe? No. Does it happen in certain places far more than usual? absolutely.
You can get *exactly* that from macally.

I expect your next post to be from your new mac.
Don't make statements you're not ready to stand behind.
That is not a mac 128k. That mac is NOT 20 years old.
This is really weak. putting a PC in it? oh please - this is not hard at all.
why does anyone with a digital camera and time on there hands (read: no ingenuity) get time on slashdot.

Thank you. I hate it when someone uses "an order of magnitude" as a synonym for "a lot" just to sound smart.
Yes kids, that is how you sell out.
I have to give credit to the marketing team for Hublot - very nicely done.
wow.
And here I actually thought there might be new footage...
