I hear you... Metal is not in a real problem, though... not with so many different styles and so many different influences in the past... I'm amazed at what i'm discovering in metal. It's really beautifull everything there is.

Yes, you've seen it. It usually gets a +5 funny. It's getting old now... There's a page on the web that generates dupes of that, just replace the strings with the OS, variants, Manufacture, etc.
I won't be trying FreeBSD, though, did it once and seems too messy. I'll get comfy with Linux and then try it.
People ARE switching to linux, because it fits them. As more and more people convert, more and better software will be written. Currently Linux is a solution for some people. They in turn are providing the feedback for other things they would like. Some other person checks it those things out and finds it better than what they have, and switch too. Some people are expecting something to just make everyone grab a distro and install... It's not going to happen. What is happening is PCs being sold with linux as a home solution, with word processing, email, internet... all those small things you do everyday are the killer application. If you can do them nicely and quickly, why not opt for the cheaper solution? Then people find out the other freedoms in Open Source...
So... make it work one piece at a time... it will come to the desktop.
So... I've read quite a lot of posts about how Remote X is such a great thing, i've become quite curious... But none of the posts mention how to do it. Anyone care to share knowledge?

I'm glad it works for you, but it is not simpler. By a long shot. DnD/d20 is as simple as it can be.

I agree with Dan Simmons, Hyperion is up there as a great novel indeed. It's a series, but you might read them separatly as well. Great epic stuff.
