    It costs money to check the CVN number. More security checks you add, more expensive the transaction is. AVS(address verification aka check the zip code) was 39 cent charge last time i checked.

    Vendors are the worse. I signup for a reoccuring bill cycle for an online game. They asked for the CVN(number on the back). They aren't allowed to store this number so why would they ask for it? I always wondered if I entered a fake CVN, would my credit card auth would fail at the end of the month.

    Cats are easier to detect than a standard text captcha. Facial features are really easy to detect, your off the shelf digital camera can find human faces for its autofocus. Detetcting difference facial features between cats and say dogs is trivial by comparing distance ratio between detected features(eyes,mouth,nose).

    They currently launch 6 six a day, the ballon itself is $50, the radio is $1500 and parachutes back to earth after it reaches its lifespan. They are ballast altitude controlled and can control where they move much like hot air ballons by adjusting their elevation and catching different air currents.

    Tethered ballons you have issues with planes running into the lines and coping with the stress put on the line due to high speed winds.

    I spent some time reading through supposedly 'human readable' XML documents, and writing some. Both reading and writing XML is incredibly nonsuccinct, error-prone, and time consuming. This stuff sucks.

    There's so many more readable formats like json. Or just using byte offsets. Hell we could being using pipe delimited data.

    Why would would directv license that technology? Satellites already broadcast an mpeg stream there is no reason to anything to it except save it to the HD.

    Of the commonly used web servers, IIS is most secure. There hasn't been a remove exploit for it since server 2003 launched. Go check Secunia .

    MPEG-4 maybes open but it still requires licensing fees to actually use it. It cannot be used in FOSS projects. OGG on the other can be. I can't see how you would advocate mpeg-4 over ogg? Also your information about VC-1 is wrong. It has mandatory support on bluray and hd-dvd players. And most movies on these players are mpeg-2 with all warner brothers being VC-1. Seems far from a failed technology.

I feel like you really can't have Galaxy without all of the things we learned from Sunshine."

    Disabling changing the camera angle in most parts of game isn't fixing the problem.

    They gave numbers. Though its meaningless to compare the month of october to the month of november when it comes to product sales. People xmas shop in november, hell ps 2 sales tripled this month.

    Its funny how apple bashes on vista. Yet microsoft managed to sell 88 million copies of vista.

    With microsft posting double digit increases in Q4 revenue from client(vista) and business(office) divisions compared to last year, I guess microsoft failed at failing.

    Do bot users root kit there bots? Hide themselves from the filesystem, process list etc. How would blizard detect that?

    COD4 is more like a movie than a video game. Haven't passed the game yet but gameplay and story are quite enjoyable though I wish the AC130 gunship level was a little longer. On a side note, games can be too innovated. Forexample, mario galaxy. Great game only issue is that its gameplay is so innovated that my brain has not adapted to it yet. I get motion sickness after an hour of play. I wanted to continue playing but couldn't. Maybe i'll buy some dramine for tonight's gaming session.

    Sony just saw HD-DVD camp sell 100k players in a weekend at the $100 pricepoint and more would have been sold if walmart and bestbuys stock didn't deplete. Thats why sony is scared. They will always be more expensive than HD-DVD and rumours are toshiba is going to drop the of their entry level HD-DVD player to $150 for the Xmas season.

    California has the some of the strictest air pollution laws in the country. We also have stricter industry laws, stricter labor laws, better consumer protection. In other words, California isn't business friendly as other states and errors on whats best for the Citizens of the California. The social morality/values of California is what attracts some of the most talented people in the world to California This in return attracts businesses. Only issues we have is that Bush is not allowing us to regulate greenhouse gases as per California state law.

    Umm isn't that what they are doing? Passing laws about pollution generated in their states? I can't see how that falls under interstate commerce And If it does fall under interstate commerce, would that invalidate smog laws in california and other states that have implemented similiar type of laws?
