US military is spending billions on developing a missile defense system. You'd think they could use the same technologies to vaporize space junk. All you need is really powerful laser either shot fired from the ground or airborne 747.
Boot hitting Open Apple control and some other buttons would cause the computer to load up off a system stored in the rom. It could read the drives on the scsi chain, disks and even had Apple share support to connect to an appletalk network.
I can see why you would have mp3s encoded since its pain to keep changing cds or to transfer to an mp3 player but why would you encode LoTR to Divx? I never found any reason to encode my dvds to divx. Copying a dvd on the other hand I can understand for a backup.
They aren't dictating who businesses can or can't call. Its an opt out list. And it is every responsibility of government what can or can't do. With your logic, our fax machines would be flooded with junk faxes and I would burn up all my cell minutes by telemarketers.
What the governments needs to set up next is a privacy opt out list that states a business can't sell information of the person if they are on the list. If the government had this list, in theory make the do not call lists useless since businesses couldn't sell your phone number.
Same things goes for Java on Windows. As long as you can remove it from the install, i won't have problem with it. If the final ruling is that its required install, thats when I have problem because it limits people's choice of what is installed on their system. Same thing goes with.net or anything other thing. I want the feature of removing of it.
Most fones let you key it in which is a pain the ass. Or you can format your sms messages with the ring tone already written and send it to yourself via email gateway. A ring tone is just a SMS message.
.Net isn't bundled with anything, you have to download it. Windows Update doesn't even auto download it for you have to pick it out of the software addons. Personally I don't want anything on my computer I don't need, Java,.Net. My box meant is only for playing games and this excess crap uses up resources.
A system of distributing video and/or audio information employs digital signal processing to achieve high rates of data compression. The compressed and encoded audio and/or video information is sent over standard telephone, cable or satellite broadcast channels to a receiver specified by a subscriber of the service, preferably in less than real time, for later playback and optional recording on standard audio and/or video tape.
Seems like they are really reaching on that patent. I can see them go after directv or digital cable, but pr0n sites?
First I gotta pay to use tivo , now they are gonna charge to view pictures and play mp3's(which are stored on MY HARDWARE), and worse they want to charge you to program your tivo via the web? And to add insult to injury, they spam my menu with ads and download ads to MY HARDWARE. Oh wait I forgot to mention their stuff is spyware and report what your watching to their servers. So how is this good?
ATI did the same thing with their drivers and quake. Article on it
Wow Getting modded flamebait for quoting Pulp Fiction. Some people need to get a clue when moderating. Full Context of the quote

Whats the liability if one these ships crashes? They are going to be over heavily popullated areas. Seems like a big disaster waiting to happen.

Also add some neon lights and alum. case and a blow hole with 6800 rpm fan.
