It seems to me that alcohol if taken in very large quantities has this effect.
Ever go out on the town, make an ass of yourself (as told by your friends) but not rememeber any of it?
Goodwin's Law is retarded.
I think a better law is the Special Olympics Law which is as follows. "Arguing online is like running in the Special Olympics. Even if you win you're still a fucking retard."
Oh noes, did I win? DAMN IT!
...mother nature has been charged with a conspiracy to sell narcotics after it was discovered that people were using air to transmit verbal sound waves to help sell drugs.
I agree except about the part about "holding themselves accountable." Thats never going to happen. For corporations, its in their very nature to be completely selfish, immoral, unloyal (to the citizens of the countries in which they conduct business). For governments, its a matter of time before the various institutions within them become corrupt and stop looking after the people's interest and start looking out for their own.
It is the people's responsibility to keep the institutions in check. That is why its so important for "regular" people to be officially united in their economic and political lives. Governments and corporations are organized and selfish. The regular people are often not organized enough _or_ the organizations they are affiliated with are controlled by the corporations or the government.

It's very good.
I'd be in favor of the death penalty for hackers ONLY if we first have a death penalty for executives of companies who rape the public with their scams.
Or what about the death penalty for illegal industrial polluters?
Funny how corporations want us to help them protect their profits through all sorts of draconian measures but when it comes to crimes committed by corporate crooks they're all in favor of the status quo.
Did you know white collar crime costs the public more than all other crimes combined? Its true.
Check out the above documentary link on IMDB and immediately go and rent this movie (or not). I for one welcome our new(?) Corporate Overlords.

Without exception, in every town of every province of every country, earthlings are violating (where applicable)local, state and federal laws. Ok then, answer me this... why are the South Korean WoW servers not affected?
http://www.firingsquad.com/news/newsarticle.asp? se archid=7415
And don't say its because everyone is playing Lineage... according to the above link, WoW is setting concurrency records over there. But then why aren't those servers suffering from the same fate as the U.S servers?
I submit its because of the network infrastructure in South Korea which makes the U.S problem a "front end" issue. We'll find out soon enough.
Incidentally, if I am a moron, then what does it make you for arguing with me?
World of Warcraft uses TCP ONLY for its client to server communications and this seems to have been a big mistake for Blizzard. In South Korea, their network infrastructure is first class. They have fiber everywhere and virtually everyone has MEGA bandwidth broadband. That is why WoW and other mmogs in South Korea like Lineage I and II can get away with using TCP only.
However here in the U.S, our network infrastructure is not so homogenous nor cutting edge in all places. There is a reason so many mmogs that are popular here in the U.S use UDP datagrams over TCP steams. I wouldn't be surprised if Blizzard decides to quickly hack in a UDP based messaging system to fix this issue. If their code is well architected, it shouldn't be too difficult to do this... the question is, are they going to turn paying customers into testers for the next month while they experiment with fixes to the problem?

As far as I'm concerned, Microsoft makes good products. Sure there are security holes, but you hypocrites fail to remember (when its convenient) that no large scale software application is 100% bug free.
Knowledgeable users know this and make use of hardware and software firewalls, antivirus apps and spyware detection apps.
Security will always be a problem. There is no single magic bullet solution and Microsoft realizes this. With so many millions of people running Windows there are always going to be alot of targets for the unscupulous to prey upon.

Very simple fix eh? How the hell are you going to get the types of Representatives and Senators elected who would actually enact such a change in the patent process?
Big business has their meat hooks into the system and I don't see any "simple" way of getting them out at this point.
Eventually all of this is going to get very messy.
Isn't this something that the U.S Department of Justice should be able to regulate/check/enforce?
However, I'm losing my faith in them as well. Mega-mergers are always given the green light and final outcomes against monopolies like Microsoft never seem to be just.

Law enforcement had access to this report 14 months ago and yet Ruslan has still not been charged or arrested. At this point, it seems unlikely that he ever will be. If their is frustration on their part, it lays within this fact.
Still, from the looks of it, they were sponsored to write this report and thus were paid. As they state, the "bounty was not our incentive." But nobody writes such a report or does this type of work for free.
The only purposes releasing this report to the public serves now is
a) Prevents others from collecting a bounty in the UNLIKELY event they attempt to use previously documented evidence already on hold by law enforcement.
i) If you are paranoid, then it prevents corrupt officials from trying to let their friends receive bounties by using old information.
b) inform Ruslan that he is a suspect if he didn't already know it.
Of course its biased. They are making a case

Seems to me that your problem is you read the Slashdot topic and description and then fault the original article for not living up to your expectation. The article IS biased because it makes a case against Ruslan. The lame ass slashdot topic & description don't quite relay that fact.
As for evidence in the article which you neglected to cite, they show that
1) his other software Send Safe share common opcodes in the executable and is highly indicative of common source code.
2) he demonstraded foreknowledge of the virus existance because Send Safe was exploiting infected machines before Sobig virus was ever announced.
