Some admin is reading/. and realizes that's his webserver and is thinking FUCK.
Right now his boss is burning up his pager/cellphone.
I really would have liked to RTFA, but seeing as how the/. effect has taken hold. From teh write up, it is supposed to deliver aid/supplies to places that don't allow for easy access by conventional means. Hrmmm seeing as how there is no where in the world this thing can go that a conventional helicopter or plane can't, well the plane can't land, but that's what cargo parachutes were made for. What is the point of this?
This seems more like some way to con investors out of money than real world practical application much less any kind of R.O.I. for the investors. The thing will still be plagued by what ultimately lead to the demise of derigable travel in the first place, the ability to operate in iffy weather. Convention aircraft aren't so much constrained to this anymore as planes can fly over affected weather areas at higher alt than the weather, and choppers just wont go up.
Sony has spent on the technologies to stop copying cd's, especially the one that could be thwarted by a small piece of $0.00001 scotch tape.
3m, we don't make the copy protections on your cd's, we make the scotch tape better to stop the copy protections.
F.B.I. Alert Millions of US Citizens After Data Warehouse Security Breach!
The FBI Liason released at a press conference this statement
...we are currently looking into the matter of how they got in. It would appear that the perpetrators used some WMF vulnerability in Windows to get into our systems. We have patched all of our systems and are now relatively confident that no future intrusions will occur
In other news it was found that 300 low paid FBI employees are missing and several of the core servers that housed other sensitive data are also missing. A yellow post-it note was found at the scene which reads....
we r teh N54, j00 w1!! p4Y u5 1 milljion j00 ass dollars for j00r d474 back.
If you can afford to regardless of your course of study, take both. There will be no harm in both and you will not back yourself into one corner or the other. As for programming learn whatever languages on your own you would like. No matter the language most times the theory will carry from one to the other. The language however, is a matter of personal preference.
Is this another way for a pet owner to shirk liability? Before the flames come rolling in, I am a dog owner. Imagine, a dog is outside on a nice day, while the owner is at work the dog escapes the backyard, and attacks someone up the street, this system for whatever reason fails to notify the owner of the escape and the owner is sued for his dog running loose and in turn sues this company for failure to notify him of the event?
Seems a bit far fetched, no pun intended, but given the lack of accountability in this country it's a matter of time before it would happen.
What are they doing? Taking pictures with the camera of the data on the screen? Sending video over the net?
I read TFA, and both the article and the title would lead a nontech savvy person to believe that's how they were being used. I think/. already covered data loss via USB ports before.
I would be interested to know how they can justify this as a violation of the schools Code of Conduct unless the student was on school grounds when the posts were made. I think this is right there with the High School student who was suspended for bloggin (off school property mind you) as well. I realize that there is a huge difference in the two cases, but both have the same general principles in mind. Someone spoke their mind and were penalized for it. As for how students should conduct themselves, I'm sure that no one else in the entire school has ever, broken the law, gotten drunk, tried drugs, had sex, been arrested, etc etc, staff included. I'm sure they stringently do background checks on all individuals to make sure they are of the utmost moral fibre.
This is just getting to the heart of the issue with the US, that leaders are silenced. Someone who decides to break the norm and not follow the rest are seen as a threat.
One question I'd really like to know is if the teacher cited as being "a ------------ of a teacher" really was? I know I've had professors who couldn't find their assholes if there was a 40 foot neon sign sticking out of it.
To the student, I wish you the best of luck and I hope this goes your way. When private enterprise has the authority to silence people no matter how it's done this is infringement of freedom. Now if his bloggings were liablous in anyway that's another matter.
I agree with your list of "let's keep" or what to look for, as an MSNM user I think the worst things in the world are the ads and the freaking Nudges!
What I would really like in an IM client.
A simple IM interface, text only no silly animations no cutesy icons no flashing ads or brightly colored atrocious text or font no nudges, must have the ability to file transfer send/recieve live audio/video that is my dream IM.
Forgive my ignorance, as I am not well versed in bible study as I do not follow any religions. From what I did learn at a younger age, though one could assume that Darwin's theories of evolution are not entirely that far from how the bible says life began. I see no reason why the two ideologies cannot coexist even if they are unable to support each other factually or otherwise. A belief in evolution in no way diminishes the idea of a higher power creating the seeds of life. I however do tend to lean toward life on our planet having evolved as there is direct evidence of evolution in many species. For me the thought of intelligent design is suggestive of a being who is perfect and able to predict the future of life and what every organism on the planet needs to ensure it's survival is a bit far fetched. The study of nature itself teaches us that there is nothing perfect in nature, no straight lines, no perfect circles, these are all man made. The earth is not perfectly round, with so many imperfections in the universe, I have to lean toward evolution.
By complying with Sarbanes/Oxley like your company does, at least you make the effort to thwart theft as opposed to handing them the proverbial key to the kingdom. The safeguards you have listed are not outlined that precisely in Sarbanes/Oxley it sounds like your company is taking extreme steps to protect itself. You must work with sensitive "private data", and alot of it.
While I'm all for freedom of speach even if I don't agree with it that's what freedom of speach is, I don't however, think it is right that in this case the school was sought after for a monetary award, when so many schools are so underfunded these days, this sends a message not of freedom to speak and be heard or to express, but rather to sue your school and profit.
I think in this case some other form of restitution could have been sought and some agreement made, granted that this kid will ever regain the days lost from expulsion/suspension I'm sure he/she didn't care much though.
To this person, I say right on you protected your rights, and most likely denied someone of a better education due to lack of funding.
Your rights will be stomped on the rest of your life, get used to it. Not saying give in to it though. You should fight for them, people gave their lives so we could enjoy the few rights we have left.
I claim the Sun, of which I now require every person in the world to pay me anual royalties for the use of it's light, and heat.
In the event that my Sun goes supernova the owner claims no responsability for losses incurred. WARNING Sun exposure is known to cause skin cancer. The Sun's owner is not responsable for sunburns due to overexposure. Use in moderation. Contents of the Sun are hot, in any event do not try to visit the sun, do not stare at directly at the sun in the event of a solar eclipse. The suns owner is not liable for Lunar Eclipses and losses incurred.
If that were the case, lighter than air would still be used by the military, yet they don't.
A restock of ammo does alot of good when the blimp was delayed two weeks because of weather.

Thank you for the tip, I'll have to try that.

Exactly what small percentage, number wise reported issues, vs. the total number of worldwide sales? Is this ratio 3000:1, 300:1, 30:1?
Could this issue be the real reason M$ held off on suppling more units, or was it truely some PR stunt?
Curious gamer.

Somehow after watching the "rotting pig in a Corvette" episode, I don't think money would be an issue.
