My Zaurus has a command line, can play mp3, OGG and Mpeg movies, has Quake, a bunch of other cool games, word proc, spreadsheet, file manager, unit calc, rdate, and even GCC...
I was playing q3 a while ago, it's like football but less violent.
Anyway, i don't see why these guys have to put on 20 pounds of padding and helmets just to play rugby.
Yes, i'm american, but i still think rugby players are way tougher than any football player.
StorCard promises the tiny hard drive will provide high performance to quickly handle large amounts of data. It will support a volume sufficient to stream media files, for example, according to Heil. As a result, the StorCard could store even material that previously would fit only on a DVD.
Frozen Bubble under linux is cool, and on the Sharp Zaurus and Linux IPaq's, Froot is really fun. The main thing to remember is that it's just a game and you shouldn't be spending all your time playing it.
Q3 develops excellent reflexes and it's just plain good fun...so what if it's violent? part of being human is being able to tell what's real and what's not?
Now if you want a simple concept with tons of playability, the Worms series can't be beat.
There are only 2 problems with this argument.
1. Not all M$ products will ship with the MCE stuff built in.
2. To even GET MCE, you need to buy microsoft's endorsed hardware, since they won't just sell you the raw OS.
If Microsoft is to be taken seriously in the PVR market, MCE must be very competitive with both set-top and currently available PC solutions; poorly made Media Center PCs could seriously tarnish the brand and would work against Microsoft's success..
BWAHAHHAAHAHAHHAHH
ahem. Anyway, as i was about to say...it's not like inferior quality is really something Micros~1 has ever worried about. Just ask mister Jobs^H^H^H^HGates.
I believe the question here is "why didn't they use a board that hasn't got onboard VGA in an effort to save money?", not "why can't i use both connectors at once?"
The answers for the latter question that have been put forth are very good. those for the former are nonexistant, so here goes.
If the apple PDA has an IR port like an iPaq or my much cooler Zaurus, you could use it as the remote..:)
IF apple put as much innovation into a new PDA as they did into the original Newton, they could do great things. Especially considering their reputation of having long battery life on their portable devices.
unfortunately, they can't offer a no OS option. This story should explain why. Microsoft won't liscense its OS to companies that offer computers for sale with a NO OS option.
this doesn't stop them from using FreeDOS like Dell did, or loading it with RedHat or Mandrake preconfigured..but no "NoOS." Besides, i'm not sure if i'd want to try to configure Linux to run on that thing myself...i'd more than happily pay for the convenience of having a monstrosity like that configured for me. Can we say "Nonstandard hardware?":)
This man speaks the truth!

it's a GNU/Linux box in your pocket.
And it is the high life.
Dude, have you seen KDE 3.1? if not, check it out. it's quite possibly the only interface that gives aqua a run for its money.
I wasn't aware that the iPod was software...
thanks for clearing that up.
There's your answer.
"Otherwise, blah. I'd rather get a dual Athlon."

I was serious about the red army choir mp3's though.

In Soviet Russia, *YOU* cease to exist.

Not everything on slashdot has to do with GNU/Free Software.

The best use of XPDE i can think of is to run it on my laptop when i'm at my friend's house (my friend is a windows fanatic), and see if he notices :)
in soviet russia, slashdot posts comments on YOU!
Same here. I use a Router, so if comcast wants to install something to my router, and if they can figure out how to do it, they can go on ahead :)
