I am currently dating a girl that put herself through undergrad architecture school as a dancer.
She has since quit and moved on to Grad school. I know 3 other girls that are doing the same: One goes to FIT in NYC for design, the second recently received her EMT license and the other hasn't picked a major yet but likes teaching.
I know, I know this is slashdot blah blah... I'm not supposed to know pretty girls let alone girls who are pretty AND smart. Bollocks
As long as the minimum requirements are clearly stated, I don't see how there is a loophole, Noe if the requirements are unreasonable, a moving target or worse not clearly specified you have a bit of an issue.
I beg to differ, but I wouldn't call sticking 9 plyaers in the defending third "fearless". It was a good conservative strategy, but not fearless, more like cautious... very cautious.
What's really exasperating is that when the Aussies HAD to attack and open the game, after the first goal, they proved themselves prefectly capable of doing so and in several ocassions threatened the Brazilian goal. A boring game in the first half, much more entertaining in the second.
Without getting into a 'religious' debate about the MPAA et al, Hollywood movies on average cost A LOT more to produce than a porn feature, thus the margins for Tinseltown movies are a lot less. Furthermore, a large portion of Hollywood's fare revenue comes from showing the movie in theaters, and as we all know porn is mostly sold on DVDs and on the web.
People have been paying/pirating porn since the days of the BBS and online movie delivery is nothing but a logical progression, given the widespread availability of broadband.
In my opinion you can't compare Hollywood and the porn industry.
I cannot agree more with this comment. I played hours on end with my girlfriend at the time,. and it was a fantastic experience, she picked it up quickly and got into it as much as I did, so much so that we would play for hours at a time. Melees were very exciting as either of us would yell for help when in trouble and we had a system where I would pick up weapons and the like and she would pick up the money, since my character could carry a lot more weight than hers. I remember this experience fondly.
In a similar move the MTA is thinking of selling the naming rights to NYC subway stations, to plug an alleged 1 billion USD deficit. Thus, we stand to have names like: the Coca Cola Lafayette station or the Microsoft Wall Street Station.
I've had a PS2 from day one. Never had a problem (it is my only DVD player). My g/f has a sligthly newer revison and hasn't had a problem either. I'm not a fanboy but my experience with the device, has been flawless.
What would be interesting, is to see how much energy is spent on making, distributing, BioDiesel, what kind of resources are used etc.
I did a quick search and found nothing.
As insightful as your comment sounds, they are not taking anything away from you. I don't think anyone has an inherent 'right' to watch a DVD. Studios make movies and we choose to watch them.
Maybe we should all choose to watch works, by people who do no restrict the ways in which their prroduct can be viewed. The mighty dollar seems to be the only language, businesses are willing to listen to.
from the article "It turns out that for just about every shape of wheel there's an appropriate road to produce a smooth ride, and vice versa."
I sure hope Stan Wagon comes to New York and tells me which frigging wheels I should be using, I can never get a smooth ride in the Big Apple's "roads"
A very interesting article on the relationship between the 800 lbs gorilla and its supplier, kind of scary actually. After reading it I must agree with you

Dude, This almost made burst out laughing. HAHAHAHA
LMAOROTF.
It is so true, once in a while you hear someone, just stand in the next br stall using large amounts of toilet paper.... disgusting
This may be offtopic but I believe is related. I live in the norhteastern US, and as others have already pointed out,due to light pollution, can only see a fraction of the stars that would otherwise be visible during a clear night.
I grew up in Colombia and remember fondly countless nights spent in awe looking up at the stars; imagining, wondering.
There are people out there working hard making sure that lawmakers, corporationes, etc, are made aware that for the most part, economic development and dark skies, don't neccessarily have to be at odds; that with a few careful measures, a significant amount of light pollution can be avoided.
It is a foregone conclusion that buggy software CAN and HAS killed people.
Having said that, it is also obvious that software that is to be used in mission critical systems, where failures would put people at risk; must be certified accordingly.
Take for instance the stringent testing and certification rules for software to be used in NASA's space shuttles. Write Stuff
There is, however, a steep price to be paid. Writing bug-free software is very expensive, and only those that cannot live with the possibility of failure, have to shell out the cash.
My girlfriend was asking for one of these nokia 60 phones.

I'd say that in the case of the brain, the drivers for the new limbs, are "written" as the person learns to use them, as it takes considerable effort to learn or relearn how to use them. In the case of transplants, they aren't new hardware, but upgrades (the drivers are already loaded).

It gets better, I believe C.A. was going for Anonymous Coward in Spanish. Coward is spelled Cobarde not Covarde. Oh well

Does the music-slows-down-the-network effect also happen while playing games? That would be very bad for the Vista online gaming "experience"
For the record, I use Vista on one of my PCs at home but until now haven't installed any games on it. I use it as a music server not a player.

ROTFLMAO! :D:D:D:D:D:D
It sounds that what you need are better speed enforcement devices. This would do nothing to bring those people back, it would only help assign fault.
This type of commercialization will not stop.

Properly placed, this could also be used as an X-Prize entry. Damn this thing must be noisy.

Not now, but from the article, you could use it to build it!
