    Probably because other cultures know far more about US culture than the reverse - and so they feel slighted when a global corp. like Microsoft gets something wrong that is to them very obvious.

    I'm sure that the dominance of the US plays a role in national sensitivities - it's easy to be tolerant when your culture has a global prescence. Case in point : McDonald's is one of the world's most recognized symbols, I think right behind the Olympic Symbol.

    Get your facts straight. France and Russia were not prosanction, and Germany was conflicted over the issue.     There are over 740 tons of Sarin alone unaccounted for. 740 tons out of a known 920 tons. Eighty percent. Where is it? (Well, it's in the Sudan, Libya, Syria, who knows?)

    Sarin becomes unstable unless in binary form, which according to the CIA, Iraq did not have the capability to produce in quantity, so even if the sarin isn't unaccounted for it isn't a viable cw now.

    From AP news (lexis nexis, sorry no linky):
    Iraq declared that between 1984 and 1990, it produced 795 tons of sarin-type agents. About 732 tons were put in bombs, rockets and missile warheads. Iraq further declared that about 650 tons were consumed during the period 1985 to 1988, which included the Iran-Iraq war, and 35 tons were destroyed through aerial bombardment during the Gulf war in 1991.

    Iraq destroyed 127 tons of Sarin-type agents under U.N. supervision, including 76 tons in bulk and 51 tons from munitions.

    Probably because American foreign policy shows a preference for iron fisted tyrants over self-determination, democracy and freedom. A country with the likes of Pol Pot, Suharto, Saddam, etc. on its list of cronies shouldn't look for sympathy.

    Pricey, but sleek and sturdy. If there is a better bay I didnt find it. Mine is actually two bags - a reinforced sleeve that encases the laptop and clips into a roomier bag. You need both if you want to keep the laptop safe.

    Proofread and you too can avoid those errors.

    As far as virus is concerned, the classical meaning, slime, isnt something that can be made plural - add more and you still have just a big mass of...slime.

    Default is running network and bayes mode - to run in network mode requires turning off bayes (use_bayes 0). skip_rbl_checks 0 is default (see comments in 10_misc.cf)

    SA fix for 2.55 / 2.60

    Just one zero is needed, as it will disable the test for all modes.

    By default, the OSIRU tests are enabled only when running network mode only, so if you havent customized your configuration and changed that, then you are in the clear - but it's a good idea to disable these tests nonetheless.

    The one thing Google DOES get from running Linux is big cost savings. For Microsoft, that's a non-issue though since it's their own software.

    No doubt wasting resources is secondary to Microsoft eating its own dogfood.

    Happily, companies such as Google and Akamai are free of such marketing requirements. Google chose linux not only for the cost savings but for the stability.

    Windows NT and 2000 are more expensive than Linux, and they aren't stable enough to run Google.com, said Brin, who added that he doesn't trust the quality of Microsoft tech support. "In the Windows case, it's not how many dollars it would cost--it's how much heartburn," he said.

    I think gentoo has yet to come into its own, really. It's a fun distro, and I use it on my workstation, but there are somethings for which I prefer slackware and freebsd. Portage is built around a workstation model and common usage . The compile time is a gripe, but consider Moore's law. Compare the compile times between pentium generations - compile times will continue to decrease dramatically.

    The quote was 'closest thing to fascist we've ever had.' That's accurate, although I wouldn't say Bush but rather the Bush administration.

    Hell yeah this is the closest thing to fascism I've seen in the states. We've got the bellicose nationalism, we've got the centralization of authority, we've got the propaganda, and you better damn better believe we've got erosion of privacy and individual rights. What else do you need? The crude oppression? Don't worry, white bread americans don't have to see that, as that's just for the 'others' - the Iraqis at the moment.

If you pay attention to the news you will realize that the dead in Iraq have been balanced by those we allowed to die in Afghanistan...by preventing humanitarian aid.
