The way I started, was to learn every instruction set of a 6502 from a book, and virtual know half the op codes of hand in hex. This without a computer, just paper and pen. Write some small functions on paper too. Like for loops and atoi converters, and maybe sin(x) lookup calls.
Then once you can convert hex/dec/bin in your head and know half the opcodes in hex, you can start proper assem coding on a computer to do cool funky stuff.
Once you see you are repeating stuff often, you get to appreciate the concept of library functions and you build yourself a person toolkit api, micro libc hmmmmm. Then you implement half the apis in macros/functions.
Once you see the high level of things, jumping to C/C++ is a piece of cake and you understand it all.
Back in those days, they designed the system and invented the technology at the same time, and often in 6-12 month time tables, like hardcore engineers do. None of this, we'll coast along to drag our career path out to 25years to get a good pension.
They said, we gota launch a moon orbit in 12 months, what do we need, ok build this and that, get this ready, we'll sort out these missing bits later, and plugnpray.
The days when engineers were the managers, then the accountants stepped in to control everything, and keep records of everything.
Build stuff with 2x tollerence than spec, and nothing will fail. Build stuff like today just to spec with no flexibility and bang it all falls apart.
If you select the right pacakges and not include useless crud like wav files or themes or IIS servers. You can make a trimmed custom XP using Embedded XP taking less than 300meg easily. Hell even 64meg if you are desperate.
Here are some quotes, go read the rest your selves. Yes we should pollute less, use less oil, but not at 2x the price to make someone else filthy rich!!!! You want 50 graphs and references and specs and REAL SCIENCE, READ THIS REPORT!!
"changes in temperature would be seen to precede changes in CO2 concentration by 400 to 4,000 years. Petit et al. (1999) state that during each of the last four interglacial periods the Earth was warmer than the current warm period"
"Were mediaeval temperatures at least as high as today's? This question is central to answering the question whether "global warming" is or will become dangerous to the planet."
"According to Villalba (1990, 1994), and Soon & Baliunas (2003), the mediaeval warm period was warmer than the current warm period by up to 3C. From c.1000 AD, ships were recorded as having sailed in parts of the Arctic where there is a permanent ice-pack now (Thompson et al. 2000; Briffa 2000; Lamb 1972a, b; Villalba 1990, 1994)."
"Not only is the mediaeval warm period not shown on the UN's graph of temperature over the past 1000 years: the Little Ice Age is also absent."
With all these tax increases and teachers asking for 10-20% in wage rises a year, and schools suddenly costing like whoooo 15x + what they did in 1990, home schooling shared with perhaps 4-5 local kids is the way to go. One wife or two can stop working, the family saves $20k in school fees, and the other 3 kids families can help offset pay them $1k-$2k a year instead. Everyone wins, no bad schools, no bad teachers, save lots of do$h! Even get pizza for lunch on fridays too, and if everyone finishes their work early in the day, they can then play sports or the Wii . Schools really are an outdated 19th century concept, micro classes are the answer. Teachers should quit their school and setup shop at home charging $4-5k per student and no more than 5 in the whole group.
Use their own designed encrypted systems, or buy $5000 comms talkies from the russians.
They use high tech RF mapping signature maps to see where there are dark spots in the FBis monitoring systems.
If your making billions in profit each year, you can afford to spend $5-10m in custom design hardware from china or fly 1000s of flights to map the intercepts.
Only part time low lifes use mobiles, because they cannot afford anything greater than $200USD, which means they must be very small time crooks.
If your HDTV 1080 pixel (there is no I in LCD) can only show 1080p, then why deliver 720p via a signal and DEPEND on the hardware of the tv to upscale properly which it probably wont because its a cheap-ass box, with crappy scaling hardware $5 chips. I know some tvs cheat doing 720p to 1080p conversion by downscaling to 520p then doubling the pixels, oh that is such a cheap code trick!!! lame!
I guess the question is do we have more image scaling hardware in TVs or inside players.
On the xbox, well it will eventually have hdmi onboard, but not now. So big deal if current people miss out, they can sell the xbox on ebay, and get a new one.
I hate having 10 power bricks, all black and with NO LOGOs or any indication to tell me which device its for!!!
If you are that cheap, supply a damn 5cent sticker in the box so I can label the power supply as "For Drill" or "For Sony Camera"
Oh and one more thing, stupid WIDE BRICKS, that you cannot fit another plug next to it on a power board, this is spawned wider damn power boards, stupid TDC Power bricks.
If mobile phones can have slim tiny adapters, why not other devices out there. I wish they could make an auto amp/voltage adapter too, perhaps with an extra serial IO line to request the vol/amp.
Dude, ever think that full docs might me in a.txt or.doc file?
If we could do html documents inside source comment blocks that would be awesome instead of crappy ascii comments with no ability to do images fonts or diagrams
Just look at the home hardware, varied yes, duplicate chips yes
My DVD player+AnalogRecorder+80Ghd and my DigitalFreeTV Box w/80Gig and my CableTV/SatBox(no hd) and my xbox+250gHD all have common hardware wasted.
Ie, mpeg2 decoders and harddisks and damn remotes, if only for ONE reason is to get rid of all the remotes.
What we need is a common multimedia box or the consoles can do dual digital tuners + analogue with REPLACEABLE HD and built in DVD burner.
Analogue comes with many PC digital tuners on the same chip, or $5 chip, why cannot retail setup boxes do that aswell as default, not a $300 markup addon.
I got damn hate these solutions with no replaceable harddrives, they are cheap and getting cheaper, SELL THE DAMN machines without a harddrive as an option and go and pick one up your self, im sick of 2-3x markup prices on these lounge room solutions. Stupid cable companies using R-tard marketing saying we will have 250gig massive HD recording in the future, well sorry, you can buy 700gis TODAY!. SATA drives clipped into a plastic casing then slotted into a device would be a better solution, then the hardware can reformat/system it from ROM. I know engineers want this, but business analysts say NO! because they can't fake their high profits.
People want convergence because they are getting sick of all the cable mess, 50 inputs and outputs and a mix of signal types from svhs/component/hdmi.
And I wish companies standardized on machine widths, some are too narrow 10inchs, and some are too wide, nearly 19ins. Stick to 1/2 cabinet width dudes, about 13inchs, the old VCR widths.
Exactly, MS screwed up not doing a 100% perfect xbox1 emulator on the 360, even if it required them to redownload new binaries or make a program do realtime optimizations taking 10minutes.
As you release new systems, the old ones still sell in cheaper markets, there by increasing you base massively.
5x more poor people than rich people can have a better say.
Eventually, all those ps2 people will get a ps3, even if it is in 2010. But all those xbox1 people will go anywhere, not guaranteed to a 360.
Sony with all their mistakes, did one thing right, they turned games into something as basic as movies on VHS, they just work, on any machine, regardless , just plug it in and bingo it popsup, even if its from 1995 it works in a 2006 machine, just as VHS tapes do.
Ironically, Sony learned from the VHS BETA wars, and that is its a must to run X content ANY WHERE, but its not critical that its the BEST, but just GOOD enough and not UTTER CRAP.
More eyes equals more sales, which equals more profits which equals being number 1.
I do agree MS has better software, etc... Sony is like a school kid amature, they need to spend 10x more on software, ie HIRE 50 geeks damn it, is it that hard to develop a damn IDE (using eclipse) to make PS3/2 games via some java/c++ opengl api that works on ps2/3/macs/windows/linux ?
Pay the damn geeks $120k ea, they will leave their current jobs for that. Sony you have lots of dollars, why waste it on utterly useless LAWYERS, (as useless as a CHOCOLATE KETTLE) , lawyers dont MAKE any thing, they are not CREATIVE.
Btw, what happened to the Connectix PS1 emulator, it rocked, and yes its good, is that what Sony ported to the PsP??? A little slow and why the need for hardware ps1 emu, when that did it well, what is that development team doing, they were good at connectix, where are you!!>!?!? Tell those business ANAL-LYSTS to get a clue, make a ps1 EMU for windows 100% FREE that will get even more people buying ps1 games from Sony Online Entertainment..
No games analyst should be older than 35yo, otherwise, they are fakers and they should be sacked for no talent.
Yeah, didn't take much effort here, just 10mins, and presto good as new. Retail is $16 or so USD, or $29 au.
So all you others stop bitching about ipods batteries being not replaceable, they are easy for anyone with a decent IQ, though not your typical housewife pushing 50, get the kids to do it. Geeks, no problem.
Surely more are sold through 2nd hand dealers, or even small shops.
Maybe sony counts all machines out of factory for that week.
Again, surely there are more than 4 people in a land of 180 million that would buy an xbox-1, its not like they ALL are rich, there are smaller cities, and poor people everywhere.
What are xbox sales in korea like? I thought they hate the Js and would never touch a Sony console.
Obviously these jokes get translated by your nurons ultra fast and you instantly know/relate each joke to a previous joke in episode 312.
Might be a good episode idea about fanbois who no longer find things funny, and act all wholey.
Why do people still listen to Rolling stones or Beatles or anything? Because OBVIOUS REPEATED stuff thats has ZERO PREDICTABILITY often is ENJOYABLE for ever. And not just once. Its like wow, this beer does the same predictable thing it did yesterday, but why do I still drink it.... hmmm....
Would it be so fun to watch an episode and think in your head or predict the next scene every 5 seconds, and then find out DAMN, all my predictions are wrong, this episode is wacky. Is it me that I cannot predict any more or am I so out of touch!?!?
Seeing something pan out to your prediction can be fun and rewarding, confirming that you are on the same wavelength and joy factor.
And if you are so good, why dont you make your own southpark episode and put it on youtube.
I suppose you find sex predicatable too, since the outcome (no punn) is the same each time.
Sorry, but it was a fun episode, just enjoy things for what they, are DONT analyze until you have no friends. Keep your sad analyzation to your self. Sometimes mixing lots of predictable and obvious things together in a funny setting, can be truely even more funny. If something is not predictable and not obvious then its probably weird alternative art that gets ZERO ratings.
SP is not for boring people but for a quick 20 min viewing, either while drinking beer, or other non-government approved narcotics banned by R-Tards in the halls of InJustice.
I love it when you see those rich hippies in the valleys complaining about wind power, yet the farmers dont seam to mind having 1000s of cows walking around, yeah they look pretty in the green distance, but they make more pollution, eat too much, and shit too much and for little benefit, they require too much energy to put in to make something usefull, ie food.
Wind turbines only effect the lower layer of winds, its not like they are 2000feet HIGH!!! and besides there are different types too, the tubular ones. And I thought birds are smart, they wouldnt be so stupid as to constantly die in the blades. If you are that concerned , then what about all the birds who die when hit by cars or trucks or eaten by feral cats.
If we had 2000watt panels and a small wind generator in EVERY house in a city of 5million, it would save a significant amount of power. Rich yuppies can do without them and pay 2x $$$ for their delivered power if they dont like the look.
Besides if there are any natural disasters, or loss of grid power, you have at least enough to keep your essentials running.
Not too costly, and it would really dent the ps3 games market, but thats just plain really evil, maybe all employees will buy 1 each and use them for blueray, and nothing else.

Unless every ISP enables multicast or at least for MS, torrents will always outdo millions of dollars for a network.
You simply cannot push out 50000 * 150kbs streams. Ok at best you can have 30 city locations to cluster it based on location.

Else, a real smart human that knows logic and sense or laws and common sense wouldnt say "get up" after a taser stunt.

Who said to use a YDM HMS time format?
I thought most scientists used Julian date system, thats similar to a stardate, ie DAY.SEC from eons ago.
Infact, dealing with YDM is a pain, and more complex and error prone than JD.
And how many systems do need to know the date any way? Is it only the CRT displays? What timezone
is the shuttle in, i assume they use Florida time.
