Perhaps this is yet another reason why we have CAT5 cables? Also, I might be tempted to use the NSA-patched Linux kernel sometime, if the FBI is going around snooping without warrants.....
Wouldn't it also be a major hit for the electric bills? Imagine the spikes if everyone in the house, let alone on the block/in the apartment, set their chargers on a timer for exactly 6:30, so everything would be ready by the time they leave for work....
When will you guys learn? Batteries are HORRIBLE in places like Minnesota, where temperatures can literally go below -30F before the windchill factor. Simply put, these would be reserved for applications like golfcarts.
Honestly, when we've already come so close to getting teleportation to work in real-life scenarios, why even bother with light? The way I see it, we're using a defunct technology already, and we'd be better off just skipping it and going directly to teleportation. Face it, if it's not instantaneous, it's too slow!
I can't imagine Gentoo dropping Gnome or KDE, or any other DE/WM that's in the top 10. And I really doubt Novell is going to drop Gnome, seeing how much of their resources they put in to help out.
So what, for you, seems to be a trivial amount of courtesy time, is for them the equivalent of learning to speak a foreign language in terms of time investment. And it's not even as much fun.
Yeah, talking about computers is way less fun than learning German, Italian, or French
Since I am one of the few people (apparently)that opened the virus on Linux (Gotta love vi), the media funked up big time. The virus creates Windows Registry entries under Beagle, not bagel
Now, When I hear Beagle in terms of computers, I tend to think of the Beagle virus (That the media idiotically called Bagel.... Apparently they never opened the virus with a HEX editor and found out that it created regestry entries under the name Beagle....
Hopefully the two aren't related....
hmm, I could've sworn D:\ was just a name for a partition, not a drive. Stupid Windows users, not knowing the difference between things like hda1, hda2, and hdb1.... I wonder if that guy works as a BestBuy GeekSquad....
Welcome to the internet my friend, how can I help you?
I'm interested in upgrading my twenty eight point eight kilobaud internet connection to a one point five megabit fibre-optic T-1 line. Will you be able to provide an IP router that's compatable with my token ring ethernet LAN configuration?
Wow, those have got to be the easiest supercomputers to crack. I mean, wow.... So does that mean that when one crashes, all of them crash? Probably not, because then it wouldn't ever have time to do any supercomputing....
I'll just stick with throwing Linux on a cluster of cell-processor computers, maybe just a bunch of PS3's would suffice....
Granted, the costs per person will be tiny, wait, I take that back, we'll make future generations pay off the costs at whatever inflation is + interest... Anyway, the government's going to be facing higher bandwith bills, speeds will go down because the servers will be accessed more. Since speeds go down, that uses up more of my time, which is priceless.
Would it even be acceptable, or not because it doesn't have a giant hammer/giant saw/spin really fast (yes, I know it's not parallell)

Honey, does this make me look fat? > It does look like you've gained a few zeptograms.... *SMACK*

Sun Labs? As in Sun Microsystems? It's doomed to fail. Another potentially wonderful technology wasted...
Hi, Egon. How's school? I bet those science chicks really dig that large cranium of yours, huh?

How long will it be until the zealots start bemoaning how this is hurting Linux?
I like Portage
At least they are still allowing Gran Turismo 4 to be sold. I should pick that up sometime soon....
Just tell them that you can't efficiently download Fedora Core without BT. I'm more of a fan of Gentoo, but the point remains the same.

...that Canada would actually ruin anything. Whatever happened to your youthful innocence, Canada?
Oh, but he could still possibly emulate programs designed for OSX, like MS Office (At least, the Mac version...).
What I don't get is, why don't people see that he's using an Apple, but not using a Mac? Apple is the hardware, Mac is the software....

Since the '50's, people predicted that we'd have In->Out machines to do all of kids homework, but sadly, it's too late for me....
Mmm, I can see it now, penguin's diets change from fish to apples & butterflies....
If they could develop a DirectX-like API for Linux, I'm thinking of something, I know it's not ClosedGL, but I can't think of it....
