...their efforts could be better used to improve the Wine...

    From the ReactOS website:

Why don't you help the Wine project instead?

Actually we work very closely with the Wine project. Wine probably has a lot more in common with ReactOS than with Linux. The Wine project has the goal of implementing the entire windows API on top of WineServer. There are only a few WINE dlls that cannot be used in ReactOS. These are NTDLL, USER32, KERNEL32, GDI32, and ADVAPI. The rest of WINE's DLLs can be shared with ReactOS. We have several developers in both the WINE and ReactOS projects that work on cross-compatibility issues between the two projects.

It is our view that Linux + Wine can never be a full replacement for Microsoft(R) Windows(R). ReactOS has the potential for a much higher degree of compatibility - especially for Microsoft(R) Windows(R) drivers - which WINE does not address.

The only use we had for Windows was in our typing class, and all we did with that was use net send to make fun of each other. On a side note - I remember when they put Novell on our network in 9th grade when I went to military school. The only thing that did was give us a way to crash the network so we could go to the library and read Popular Science/Mechanics and Mad during keyboarding.

Sure, for a simple transfer to one user it would work, but that's not really p2p filesharing, is it? If your method were encorporated into a simple, one-click method for encrypted communication for everything from directory listing to transfers then it could work. I don't know how it would prevent the admins from catching on and shutting down that network traffic if it ever did take off. But I see your point about them not being able to determine what is being transferred, thus providing them zero factual basis for stopping the network. Is this something freenet would be able to bypass easily?
