What has changed is that the movies listed, with the exception of Pacific Rim, were panned. They had low critic review scores. They sucked. People won't see crappy movies. What else is news. Grown Ups 2 had a drop off of 50%.
Oddly, Pacific Rim is not yet a flop. And it gets high scores with critics, generally.
The funny thing is, Hollywood may come to the conclusion that there is a direct relationship between how crappy a movie is and how well it does.
Although this is not a set-in-stone relationship (I'm looking at you, Jon Carter); the general rule of thumb is, the crapper a movie is, as determined by RottenTomatoes/MetaCritic, the worse it does over the long run.
And Pacific Rim, by the way, is NOT a flop, at least not yet. It's made $175 million, and it's budget was $180 million.
It has not yet opened in China or Japan, where it is expected to do gangbusters business. It may or may not make back the marketing costs and become profitable, but there is a good chance that it will, which will put it into the esteemed category of "Movies people think were flops but which actually weren't".

I never really understood this in the movie. No blood on the ground...they took great care in placing it there in the bed with no obvious clues...I would have thought at least there would have been a foul smell, but...oh well, that's movie magic for ya.
The real problem as far as I can tell are the chronic repeat offenders. The city can't do anything to really target them because they get sued by homless advocates.
And now that idiot Ammiano is going to try to make their behavior legal. It blows my mind, and I love this city.
No, the problem is panhandling. If San Francisco is too expensive, you should perhaps consider finding a cheaper place to live, of which there are many.
The reality is that a lot of those folks don't want to do real work. Asking for money is pretty easy compared to other types of work.
The vast majority of the homeless who encamp in GGP are not war veterans; that's asinine. Go to the end of Haight and look in the park, and what do you see? Dozens, if not hundreds of young adults and 20-30 somethings who just want to smoke weed all day and live in squalor. Those aren't veterans. Those are kids who don't want to make a living like the rest of us. They just wanna be carefree. I know; I live here.
And many are not. Many are young kids who decided a life of living on the street free from the constraints of "the man" is a good way to live. I know; I live here.
This is actually a real problem for me. Yesterday I changed DNS records for an older client of mine on Network Solutions to point to a nameserver on another hosting environment. It seemed to work pretty quickly on some machines, on others it still showed the old site. Now it has reverted back to the older site on some and on others it is propagating correctly.
I am not sure what the hell is going on. I can't tell if there is just some propagation issue, or if it is a cache issue, or if the DNS service on their end is just reverting back to an older state and I need to reset the nameserver change. I don't know what to do but wait.
It's funny because this is the first freelance project I have done literally in 4 years; I was only doing it as a favor for an older client. Been working on the site for months, and on the VERY DAY I changed DNS records this happens. Figures.
The issue is that no crater has been found in an antipode position to the Siberian traps. However, there is a theory that the Wilkws Land crater, underneath the Antarctic, is 250 myr old, and would match the location of this crater.
"If more science graduates are desired, the findings suggest the importance of policies at younger ages that lead students to enter college better prepared."
Conclusion: We should improve education.
Whee! And they spent how long and how much money coming to this conclusion?
How is it fraud? When I enter a search term into google, I am paying no money. Google hasn't promised me anything at all. I could search for the word dog, and see 10 results on the home page for the same dog website, and I still wouldn't have been defrauded in any way.
Speaking as an anorexic child-size styrofoam dummy, I can say that that actually doesn't look like much fun. We prefer to remain completely immobile, staring off into space. But I would image you humans would get a kick out of riding such a thing.
Yes, we are special. How many giraffe civilizations are there? Which manatee invented the internet, I'd like to meet him... Animals don't even drink beer.
And the planet doesn't have a perspective, because it's not a sentient being.
This is entirely a reasonable opinion. Most jeans don't fit the average whale, and whales have no legs, so any jeans being worn by a whale would be more akin to a locust playing a fiddle on a 10-ft tall aquarium light bulb. Seriously, since a glittering gem is nothing at all, a absquatulatory prodigous profile would wake the prime minister.

It's way too early to mark Pacific Rim off as a flop.
As of today it's worldwide haul is $175 Million, which is close to it's actual budget of $180 million.

The jury is still out.
