    On a chemical level, how does this differ from growing coral?

    A coral bred / genetically modified to grow in a wider variety of climates could also scrub CO2 from the air. Though the 'whatcouldpossiblygowrong' crowd might be concerned with over scrubbing by the GM coral.

    I know this is off-topic, but why is it that car radios don't have the weather bands? Having weather information when you are most vulnerable seems like a common sense thing to me.

    Some do - my '96 SAAB 900 has it built in. Nice for weather forecasts while traveling cross country.

    But no auto alert - you have to select the WB.
