    Here's what you're missing. Dell did that and does that with their Mini whatever netbooks, and nobody is stopping them. There are plenty of Hackintosh Mini 10s. Psystar, however, bought, modified, and unlawfully *redistributed* the modified software for use on their computers.

    Actually, $99 sounds pretty good for a GPS like that, and I'm thinking of picking it up. My phone is pretty much like my toaster. I don't care how it works and don't want to put any effort into improving it.

    Yeah, it just shows up on the new phone. All you need to do is sync it to the computer with the apps on it.

    Yeah, but there's no consensus between the evangelists and the coders. The evangelists will talk for days about how much better a system is and how it's going to be so much easier, but they shy away from any difficulties the user might have. When the user runs to the support forums, the tone changes dramatically. If the open source community in general is viewed as an actual company, their PR department is a bunch of weasels.
