    Nice try, but there was a ship called the Enterprise long ago. Have you seen Star Trek IV?

    And the new Enterprise series only takes place 150 years from now, so they are probably on Linux kernel 3 by then.

    Didn't you know? The reason we can hear phaser and photon blasts in the space battle scenes is because the vacuum of space actually is Ogg Vorbis compressed nothingness, and Ogg decoders are built secretly into spaceship hulls. Without the Ogg decoders, the Enterprise wouldn't be able to decode alien transmissions.

    I don't use WiFi because it helps the terrorists. I don't not use it because I'm a poor student, but because I must serve the country south of me, and help them win this never ending war on bad people.

    I still use eBay though. I hope there are no terrorists on eBay because I couldn't stand not being able to use that.

    Actually I hate it that they use pressed CDROMs. I think they should use CDRWs.

    Floppies were great spam, with modems, and in the mail. I just opened another 3 packs of them yesterday, because I needed some more floppies.

    AOL sends out CDs and floppy disks to people as bulk mail. There is a large movement to return as many as 100000 of these CDs to AOLs doorstep. I think only 80K have been collected by the crusaders, however. The rest are filling landfills, gracing walls, and being used as dog toys.

    No you misunderstood. I meant hand out software FOR Windows, and for Linux. Not the Operating Systems themselves, although handing out a Linux distro wouldn't be a bad thing to encourage them to use it at home.

    Definately make handouts. They need paper references or a CD to take home when done. A CD with both Windows and Linux OSource software is a must too.

    Teach them a little bit about hardware, if they are interested.

    Definately show them how to dual boot, and fix a broken LILO bootloader.

    Yeah, but if I were to crash them into planets, imagine how cold they'd get after their impact energy dissipated?
    They wouldn't even have to be working on this new refrigeration technology, if we could just cool stuff by storing it on Mars or the Moon.

    Well since this is on a website with SCIENCE in the title, I think they mean Celcius.
    BUT is also has American in the title.

    Does anyone know if Synchrotrons, like the one in Saskatoon, SK, Canada play a part in researching molecular computers? The article mentions a magnetic imaging device. Is that like a synchrotron?

    The only moving sidewalk I've seen is underneath the tarmac at Toronto Pierson Airport, and if they weren't there then you'd have to walk a helluva distance to get to your planes for domestic flights.
    They are so cool, and I wish more places had them.
