    Indeed.

You can learn alot about both your game and how others play it through stats. I'll use CS as an example because most are familiar with it. The 2 elements of stats are ingame and out of game. The ingame stats like statsme are very nice to have, it lets you see right away how you were hitting and killing/being killed. They should almost be mandatory on public servers these days. As for the web-based stats (a la psychostats), I remember seeing an update that included a body diagram with hit percentages. Pieces like that allow you to really see where your aim is going as well as look at the aim of good players (do they go straight for the head or do they just go for the torso and make sure to send enough bullets).

It's always nice to have the other stats available like accuracy with different guns and who killed who how many times...and what could be more fun than friendly competition for who can be #1 on stats with the crappy guns.

Cloture only limits the time for debate allowed on the bill. If the filibuster begins before the vote of Cloture, the senator just has to be sure he doesnt give the floor to someone who will call for the vote.

I sincerely hope the filibuster doesnt go away, it is a crucial piece of the operation of the senate. The senate is given infinate debate time to make this possible for a reason. It gives a minority party (or a dissenter from the majority) the ability to fight something they strongly believe is wrong. This option is only available in the senate and not the house, so it is not an absolute power

There are people in the senate who, if the have to, will take turns ceding the floor to each other for 8 hours at a time until someone else gets nominated.

Ashcroft will not sit on the supreme court (besides...he is clearly biased and has predetermined verdicts on many possible cases) as long as there is somone reasonable on the floor or the senate.

It could very easily have complications, especially if the parent wasnt happy having it (would have considered an abortion) and did foolish things while pregnant.

Not at all. Witnessing others express faith doesnt even come close to changint my mind, but its gonna piss me off if I am required to participate. The original poster was referring to school sponsored prayer, not kids praying in school which is not a problem.

Its it bad for someone born to an Atheist family to whitness others practing perhaps enjoinging their faith thus provinging opertunity to understand and perhaps decide personally if it might be for them?

Is it bad for someone born into a christian family to NOT witness atheism because everyone at school is required to participate in the same prayer? Is it bad for someone to be raised from birth with such an ideological faith that they don't believe dinosaurs existed? (I have known several people from different families like this but it seems a little extreme) Is it bad for a administrators with a religious agenda to restrict legitimate sex education on anything besides abstinance to a student body where a majority of them WILL NOT remain abstinate until marriage?

he Constitution starts out "We the people of the United States"

Correct you are. It says "people." It does not say "citizens" or "property owners" or "white males" all of which would have been probable at the time. People applies to everyone.

Oh, and you left out some important parts of the preamble. After you end your quote, it goes "do ordain and establish this constitution for the united states of america." Combine that with the stuff you cut from the middle of the preamble, and it reads more like "We [the current powerholders] are creating this constitution to establish justice, promote the general welfare, etc. for all people in the united states" not "We are the leaders who get to write this document so we are going to make sure it favors us..."

But the constitution is there in part to protect the minority from the majority (of course not on every issue but on many such as civil rights and liberties).

This is also much of the reasoning why I disagree with the politicians who decided to put gay marriage ammendments (and civil unions) on the ballots this year. The CLEAR majority of people are not gay and in many states tend to be against homosexuality. The ammendment shouldnt be set out for the majority to repress the rights of the minority, but it should be dealt with by the legislators (and then the courts) who were too pussy to decide so they stuck it on the ballot. And whatever happened to the full faith and credit clause? Maybe a state can decide to dissalow gay marriages to take place in THEIR state, but as I read the constitution, they would be required to honor gay marriages preformed in other states.

Slashdot always gets this one wrong. Spoilers do not provide downforce, wings do.

Spoilers break up the vacuume created behind an quickly accelerated car and can actually have a large effect (and at driveable speeds). So putting a spoiler on a FWD car has plenty of effect (providing it is a real aero spoiler and not just for looks).

Now, a wing--which is what most ricers have anyways--will provide downforce on to the whole car, but primarily onto hte back wheels and therefore as you said, will do nothing for a FWD car. The wing also does not help acceleration...it helps cornering by holding hte car down when it is at speed (and therefore COULD help a FWD car). Pushing down on the car actually creates the effect of more weight and woudl decrease accleration, but would apply more grip to the tires at speed. In low speed acceleration (where you're wheels are most likely to lose traction and spin) the wing wont have enough downforce to make a difference...

So yes, a wing is pointless on a drag-civic, but not a spoiler or a full aero kit.

Disclaimer: I am not a honda fanboy...I am however a big fan of german cars and the best example of a real spoiler is the big whale tail on older 911's. And yes, when I see a riced out GTI or somethign with a wing and altezza's...I dont find it anymore attractive than a riced out honda. Just make your cars look right people...if something doesnt fit the image, dont bother.
